"Once they get a hold of the crazy things he's said and done like taking his two-hour old baby who died right after childbirth home and played with it for a couple of hours so his other children would know that the child was real," Democratic commentator Alan Colmes said on FOX News today. "That's a cheap shot, Alan. To say it's crazy, something that's that personal and hurtful as losing a child and to mock it like that is beyond the pale and beneath you," Colmes' conservative opponent Rich Lowry said after the personal attack. I even think some of the dastardly characters we have in the main stream media are not going to go as low as you just have Alan, National Review editor Rick Lowry said later in the conversation.

This is really all about the fact that the Santorum's love and respect for their newborn son, and his life, before he was born and however brief outside the womb, disrespects the Liberals' god, Abortion.
Liberals act like there’s something wrong with Sarah Palin for “allowing” Trig to be born.
I remember Glenn Beck showed a video of a woman (Virginia Ironside) in great Britain suggesting that mothers are crazy for not smothering their disabled children.

I agree.
And what was the alternative?
To say, our son, your brother, died at the hospital so they threw him away?
No, Gabriel had to be brought home, mourned, and treated by the family as any other departed loved one.
It's for creative language such as your post that I read Free Republic.
“If FOX had any self-respect whatsoever; they would fire Colmes.”
If they don’t, they are in the same league as all the other crap political channels out there....
Dear FOX,
Please fire this mutant hominoid as soon as possible.
Make my New Year a happy one.
I will never tell anyone what is right or wrong about the way they grieve. However, I can say that the baby had to look really gross to an average person.
I lost one of my twins at 32 weeks. She was absolutely beautiful and looked just like she was sleeping, for about 20 or 30 minutes.
After that, the blood started to pool and she got blotchy everywhere. It was not the image that I wanted to be left with, so I had them take her away.
I can only guess what she would have looked like after hours. It's probally not something I would have wanted my older daughter to see, but to each there own.
So I guess that All Animals (or Children are Equals, unless your Alan Colmes or Rick Santorum's Kids) are Equal, but Some Animals are more Equal than others.
I was walking on an old farm once and noticed a small stone that seemed to be standing up. I went over and looked, and faintly chiseled in the stone was the word “Baby.”
And this was likely from a time when many babies were lost.
Someone, no doubt, had stood there and grieved.
I was about 28, living in Detroit, when I got a call from my stepfather that my mom was flying to northern Michigan (where we were originally from) from Florida and that she would be having a layover at Detroit Metro airport. Not having seen my mom in a few years, I took the afternoon off and drove to metro airport to see her.
I wasn't prepared for what awaited me. She was in a wheelchair, dying of cancer.
She knew she was dying and wanted to go back home. I got a call a couple days later from my step-dad saying mom was in the hospital in Traverse City and he was up there and that I should come up.
I left work immediately, went home and packed some clothes and drove the 5 hours up north. When I got to my aunt's house, I then went to the hospital to see mom but she was unconscious in bed. I stayed around for a few hours then went back to my aunt's house and went to bed. Mom died that night........
This is important because mom and my step-dad had a 17 year old son and a 16 year old daughter. My step-dad was on disability and could only afford one plane ticket for himself and thus had to leave my half-brother and sister behind in Florida. Because of that, they never saw their mother again and were not able to attend the funeral that was held up north.
While my half-brother is now deceased, his sister was never able to have closure on the loss of her mother and to this day suffers for it. So say what you want about Santorum, at least his family was able to meet and grieve over the child they never got to know.........
That's not sick, that is what being human should be.
Evidently, to Colmes this baby was no more than snot to be thrown away like a used Kleenex.
You are right, miss m.
Who of us has not blubbered uncontrollably at the scene in “Gone With the Wind” where Rhett will not allow his beloved Bonnie Blue to be taken from the house and buried?
Colmes, and anyone who has not lost a child, is not fit to speak on the subject.
“Alan Colmes is just about the worst scuzz ball on TV right up there with Bob Beckel. I dont know why Fox keeps them around.”
It’s the “ Fair and Balanced” BS. True, Colmes and Beckel are the most outrageous, but the one’s that get me are the two AA’s, Joey Jackson and Gemu Green. The only one that beats all of them is the smarmy Hispanic, Juan Hernandez spewing all his crap about the illegals. Just knowing he was one of Juan McLame’s advisers make me puke.
I hope that God has seen fit not to bless this weird couple with children.
If you are correct that the baby was 20 weeks old, this makes it even more clear why Colmes is viscerally nasty over this event: the Santorums graphically demonstrated that the Liberals’ god, Abortion, is a demonic fraud.
The god Abortion doesn’t like it when people get a glimpse of what a 20-week-old baby really looks like.
When have you even heard of such a thing before and why the hell don’t you think it’s weird?
It was a human life. Apparently the Santorums value life more than you do. I would wager most people would agree with them and not you
This is not something I ever would have done or even considered doing but I would never criticize anyone for doing it. As for Colms, we still call him insect man and we detest this liberal scum.
