In what seems to becoming a trend, MSNBC's partisan hosts are going on the trail in Iowa not to observe the Republican presidential candidates, but to question them as if they were a campaign embed or a reporter without bias.
Consider the following. Last week MSNBC's liberal stalwart Ed Schultz followed rising candidate Rick Santorum, a strong social conservative, in Iowa for a few days.
Chris Matthews, an admitted Obama supporter and Newt Gingrich hater, caught the candidate off guard in Iowa yesterday to ask him about PAC money among other topics. If you recall, last year Matthews said Gingrich "looks like a car bomber" and had the audacity to say the former Speaker has made politics "nastier and more feral".

How did a Chris Matthews thread get turned into an I-love-Newt tread?
Are there a lot of illegal aliens out there now Freeping?
“Well, I’m sure I’d recognize her if I saw her”
She’s the one with the knee pads and bad hair.
Oh wait, that’s Rachel Madcow.
Are there a lot of illegal aliens out there now Freeping?
Don't you know that everyone is really (((scared))) of 4th place Newt?
No one really cares what Chris has to say
I need to ask Newt if he stopped beating his wife.
Someone out there will believe me. Do you have a quarter?
Matthews is the leftist reporter that said he felt a tingle run down his legs when Obama won the election. In otherwords he peed all over himself.
"Anyone who will lie to you to become president will lie to you when they are president."
Partisan media shills ping. Thanks i88schwartz.
Gingrich, Perry, Cain, Santorum all sound OK based on their real positions and resume (not the horse dung I'm fed by the media). But Romney is unacceptable.
Guns, taxes, health care, amnesty, abortion, jumping on the global warming fad... Not really sure why he's in the Republican party, frankly. The “only” issue where he's seemed to hold his ground was with gays, and that's literally about it.
No candidate will ever be 100% because in real life, at least those candidates that have a political past, they will have had to make alliances and compromises etc. I take that into account and even Reagan falls into this catagory. However, an 80% answer is good and a reasonable person will tell themselves that a resume albeit not perfect, is better than no resume at all, i.e. the dark-horse candidate that is simply created by savvy campaigns and their advertising.
Romney is a “no go” because of the issues and his positions on them. If his past is indicative of his future, it's one I don't share his vision on. Furthermore, the way he ran his campaign is disgusting. While it was successful to bringing people down like Perry, Cain, and Gingrich, it's not inspired me to support him. I have no partiality to any specific candidate and Perry, Gingrich, Cain, Santorum all had me excited when they were in the lead or as they begin to gain momentum (i.e. Santorum), but Romney and his violations of the 11th Commandment, his political pandering and evasiveness on hot topic issues makes him unpalatable. His mantra is “the last man standing.” I would rather have Palin, someone not even in the race right now be brought onto the ticket!
Really, I'm not even picky: Perry, Santorum, Gingrich, Cain... Anyone except Paul, an unrealistic demagogue that sings sweet lullabies that sound appealing to the libertarians (Yeah, we're going to build a cocoon and as a nation crawl into it and pretend the rest of the world don't exist); or Romney, the Democrat with an R behind his name that is running his entire campaign based on deconstructing his opponents.
He’s the epitome of the New England liberal with a fluff degree where he has accumulated all the pedigree stamps of culture, education, and intellectual prowess. In reality a fast and loud talking buffoon that simply lives in the world of contemporary issues and pop culture while contributing absolutely nothing other than a poor narration of events. If this man died tomorrow, nothing would change and no one would care, except MSNBC. I assure you, 12 years after his death if you you mention his name to college freshman that will ask “who?”
LOL! Chris Matthews is neither a reporter or journalist. He is a political prostitute.
Matthews going to confront newt in Iowa is great news. I never believe polls and it looks like Chrissy doesn’t either. If newt wins, the MSM will expose themselves even more than they already have because constant attempts to prop up Obama with his pitiful record will make them a laughing stock. Obama will be toast along with the MSM. GO NEWT
Yea Chris had some time on his hand while mac daddy was on vacation and he was able to get up off his knees, wipe is mouth and do more stupid things.
