(Reuters) - Iran will fire long-range missiles during a naval drill in the Gulf on Saturday, a semi-official news agency reported, a show of force at a time when Iran has threatened to close shipping lanes if the West imposes sanctions on its oil exports.
Iran threatened on Tuesday to stop the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz if it became the target of an oil export embargo over its nuclear ambitions, a move that could trigger military conflict with countries dependent on Gulf oil.
"The Iranian navy will test several kinds of its missiles, including its long-range missiles, in the Persian Gulf on Saturday," Admiral Mahmoud Mousavi, deputy commander of the Iranian navy, told Fars news agency.

Just more beating of the war drums, Vin.
They’re trying to get American/European public sentiment going their way. In a normal economy it’d probably work. In this economy it’s you’re costing me money I don’t have to spend. They’re playing chicken w no feathers, and everyone knows it. They’re counting on Russia/China stepping in in some way. And that’s probably what’ll happen.
I’m more cynical than that, my friend— it just raises the price of oil for those who produce it.
I’d like to think we could light them up five seconds after they leave the launch pad... but then again, we have a President who would rather see them succeed.
Actually, pecker-head has to prove he’s a tough-guy.
Iran may be reading Obama entirely wrong right now.
I know what you and I traditionally think of him, and that’s why I think he may just shock the living s—t out of Iran, by giving some green lights here.
Iran’s three duces could easily see a full house dropped on it’s head.
Iranian long range missiles = A larger catapult hurling the same lit paper bags full of camel poop.
At least that’s what the photo on Drudge looks like.
I don’t think the Iranians are to smart. They advertise when they are going to perform their military drills. Now we sit in audience as we watch them test their capabilities.
I too was wondering if they could shoot them down but then 0’s presence reminded of what color his world is.
