Bill Maher's Tebow tweet prompts calls for HBO boycott

Used to be plenty of good to offset the garbage on HBO.
Boardwalk Empire is almost good sometimes, and that’s about it now.

If we really want to get our point across, then the only thing we can do is to organize an effective boycott of HBO. This is something the left has done effectively over the years. It's also something we can never quite figure out how to do. Until we do we will have to tolerate people like Maher.

Of course, spouting our indignation at each other is literally preaching to choir and will never get the situation changed but hey, we will fell better about ourselves after we vent.

I disagree. Maher wants people to call for a boycott but he wants those efforts to fail.

Bill Maher, a so-called 'comedian' who was funny for 5 minutes about 20 years ago, is the poster boy for who the hardcore 'left' really is. He is ugly...inside and out. Maher's hatred for 'religion' - mainly Christianity - (he avoids mocking Islam, the coward) and his vile comments about political conservatives and anyone not on the liberal bandwagon are indicative of the loathing liberals have for the elements that have made America great, including the moral compass most religions give us. The 'controversy' Maher's nasty 'tweet' to Tim Tebow generated help cement his popularity with 'his' people (liberals) and give him the kind of publicity he would never get for his little-watched cable show. As always, although Bill Maher is an anti-religion bigot, his free speech rights allow him to say whatever he wants but that same right also gives his detractors (us) license to criticize and mock Maher, something that is very easy to do with a putz like Bill Maher.

I’d like to know who has called for a boycott - a detail the Trib mysteriously leaves out.
If folks who are offended would just ignore this twit, he’ll dig his own grave, and his popularity will continue to wane until he’s nothing more then a sour memory.

Calls for “boycotts” of something HBO already knows Christians don’t watch does nothing but bolster Maher, HBO and their ilk’s over-inflated egos.

Maher is the pure poster boy for the ignorant, uneducated, racist, intolerant, hypocritical left. He bemoans Americans as “stupid” if someone like Palin can become President, yet fails to recognize the utter stuipidity at those who vote for the collasal corrupt failures of Hussein, Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, and Blumenthal. He has made numerous racist comments (like Hussein should go “gangsta” on congress....), yet the race card trash like Sharpton completely ignore this. He has called for violence on conservatives, yet the wacko left does not blink and instead blame the tea party for the Tuscon shootings.

And...he is a total coward. He has no problem insulting Christianity, but does he dare insult Islam? Why are you a coward Bill, if you hate all religions? Actually, imagine if he did make a joke about Islam, and not only would he instantly be fired, but he may suddenly “disappear” and his hateful body will be found strewn in pieces across the desert highway.

Trust me Bill, no one will miss you, you rotten maggot.

I like Tim Tebow as much as anyone else——he seems like a fine young man, and I love his devotion to God. But has it escaped everyone that the offensiveness of Maher’s tweet lies not in its insult to Tebow, but its blasphemy of our Lord??

I won't boycott HBO, but I won't watch Maher, either. Ever since he called the hijackers, (that flew the planes into the Towers and the Pentagon and Pa.) heroes and our military fighting men, cowards, I've had no use for him at all! Apparently, neither did ABC, since they cancelled him after the comment.

I boycotted HBO over 20 years ago, where has everybody else been? Oh I have also been boycotting Hollywood for years. If there were more people like me Hollywood would be a ghost town. I’d love to see tumble weeds rolling down Rodeo Drive.....
