On the evening of Sept. 16, 2009, I was invited to a function for Rand Pauls U.S. Senate campaign at the headquarters of Americans for Tax Reform.
I had been invited by a friend of mine via Facebook who was a passionate supporter of Ron Paul. Within minutes of arriving, I saw Rep. Paul enter the room, followed by an entourage of several college students.
I immediately walked up to Paul and introduced myself, and Paul smiled at me and shook my hand. I told him that I had always wanted to ask him a question, and that it was a hypothetical question, but I would appreciate his answer nonetheless. Paul smiled, and welcomed the question. At this point there were about 15 people surrounding us, listening.
And so I asked Congressman Paul: if he were President of the United States during World War II, and as president he knew what we now know about the Holocaust, but the Third Reich presented no threat to the U.S., would he have sent American troops to Nazi Germany purely as a moral imperative to save the Jews?
And the Congressman answered:
No, I wouldnt. I wouldnt risk American lives to do that. If someone wants to do that on their own because they want to do that, well, thats fine, but I wouldnt do that.

“Assuming this happened, “
It did, he said it.
And teh Holocaust occurred.
Little ole Adolph wanted to exterminate specifically the Jews.
He left behind nice documents proving that.
So your answer is to completely ignore the targeted killings of people based simply off of “Well, it’s ONLY them” and “Does the Constitution authorize us to be the policeman of the world” ?
What diseased thinking is this?
We should be the standard bearers of freedom, not the “Hide in the cellar and hope the mean nasty world leaves us alone” people under the stairs.
I don’t think Ron Paul himself knows what he really is!
And that's why this man should never be given the reins of government...
Now, on to the fun...
BZZZT. Wrong question.
The correct question is, where does it begin?
Long, complex story: but usually, what happens is that these things can be stopped (say, by the US, but in the past it was other Western Powers) at a cost in lives which is VERY LARGE for peacetime, but VERY SMALL compared to the number required to stop them once the can is kicked down the road.
What if France and Britain had opposed Hitler over (say) the Sudetenland?
What if Truman had nuked Stalin over Iran in '46?
What if John Kerry and Jane Fonda had been executed by firing squad for treason in the Viet Nam era?
Food for thought.
Cheers!
LoL! wow... I may not have..but I could have sworn that I warned him/her a few days ago...but then again it may have been a dream.. :p too many hours spent reading politics and FR :p

I can tell you what he’s not:
A serious candidate for president.

Looks like some troll was having fun with the keywords on this thread....
Your association does neither honor, nor justice to the late Antony C. Sutton, who was a great American.
“No one else would have either, “saving” Jews didn’t factor into our entry into the war at all, though most Americans, Paul excluded, are properly proud of Americas participation, saving not just Jews, but the whole of Europe.”
Very, VERY proud am I to honor and remember my Grandmother’s brother who was part of the 14th Armored Div., 68th Armored Infantry (named the Liberators post-WWII), which freed over 200,000 allied POWs in the last days of the war in Europe. He was KIA on 4/4/1945 outside Gemunden two days before his brothers-at-arms liberated the POWs at Hammelburg, and the same men went on to liberate Stalag VIIA. I have many other family members on my husband’s side who fought in the war - both in Europe and the Pacific - most made it back, some did not.
Regardless, without the efforts of EVERY man and woman no matter how small or large their part they all made a difference and SHOULD be honored and respected. My guess is that “Dr. Paul” would tell me something like my uncle and my husband’s uncles all died in vain - in a war that should never have happened (just like their stance with Iraq, and Afghanistan nowadays). It makes me sick - their sacrifices SAVED Europe as a whole, and countless lives. I will forever remember, and HONOR their sacrifices, as will my children (and hopefully their children, if we are so blessed). Ron Paul can take a flying leap (preferably without looking...).
>> “Churchill was an inspiration to the entire West. Chamberlain was a bum and rightly relegated to the ash heap of history. It is not as simple as you suggest.” <<
.
This may well spoil your day, but I have to agree with you. :o)

I’m pretty much just lurking too. I think I have made it abundantly clear in ALL of my past posting history that I am a conservative and was a Palin supporter, then Cain, now Gingrich, but these FReepers that say they will vote for Barry Soetoro the Marxist Kenyan..... cannot deal with that. I’m going to lose it and go off on them, and not worth the zot. Any freeper that says they WILL vote for Hussein is a troll in my book.
I might do more good by being a concern troll over at DU or Kos and try to change their minds. Problem is, I always get the zot there, must not be subtle enough. :P
Awww, shucks, sir! It’s about time we agreed.
That was Jewish bankers through their puppet FDR. Some neonazi nutjobs claim FDR was Jewish himself.
And FDR was an awful president. He moved along the destruction of America and the Constitution that Wilson started and Obama is trying to finish.
Ron Paul would be no better.
Yes, he was only pretending to be descended from Dutch patroonists; really they were Sephardic Jooos! who fled Spain, settled in Amsterdam, and from there came to the New World. The polio thing was all an act as well. His cousin TR was Jewish, too. Out of 44 POTUSes, two of them were Jewish, thereby proving that Jews are the real power in the US. Only one or two percent of the population, and they’re more than four percent of the presidents. That’s disproportionate! Abraham Lincoln was Jewish, too.
Don’t know about TR, but I’ve seen the same nutballs make the accusation about GWB, based on the Bush family of Philadelphia. Pop helped with financing, I believe 4 boys served in the Continental Army. One killed, one a LtCol, the highest ranking Jew amongst the Continentals.
There. That proves the Jooos! are behind it all. Jooos! were such a miniscule portion of the population in revolutionary times, and yet one Jooo! become a bird colonel, and another “impoverishes” himself financing the revolution. Out of 4,000 total killed in revolutionary fighting on both sides, one of them is a Jooo!, far out of proportion to their share of the population. They also ran the slave trade, of course. Art Bell said so, and so did a man in a dashiki that I met once.
