"A Gingrich campaign official prior to the move by the Republican Party of Virginia said the problem is how the rules are set up, arguing that the party is, for apparently the first time, cross-checking the addresses that signature-givers gave against the electronic voter database file for accuracies. A name without a proper address match was tossed, the official said."

Like I said, I canvassed for professionals. Guess what, we won.
RLY? Databases versus voter intent (addresses not in sync with '08 or 2010 database)?
It's worth a challenge. Heretofore I thought the addresses were missing.
Merry Christmas RKBA Democrat!!!!
Merry CHRISTmas again to you too my FRiend!!
Perhaps this can be carried over to national elections. Personally I hope Newt can garner support for a strong write-in. To have just Romney with his RINO baggage and Paul with his anti-Semitic and love of Muslim baggage is a whole bit of none conservative hogwash and candidate exclusion this is not to say all other candidates don’t have baggage. Hard to understand why 10,000 is such a sacred number.
It’s inexcusable if you are leading in the polls to not get the boots on the ground and the signitures.
Total amateur hour.
If he can’t GOTV here, what makes you think he’s going to be able to GOTV against Obama?
OOPSY!
I forgot to wish you and your’s a VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS, AND a MERRY NEW YEAR! (You Good lady FReeper you!)
Data bases are only as accurate as the people doing data entry.
I would challenge for actual verification.
It could be done in a week.
Plenty of time to print ballots.
Merry CHRISTmas back at ya and to all the conservatives at this site. (And even to the liberal Rombot trolls here who I am sure will be banned soon.)
BUMP.
Merry Christmas P-Marlowe!!!
Eggnog over here.
:)
Not sure. All I know is that he’s leading, and it’s his home state.
And he still didn’t take the time to get enough to overcome the validation process.
I’ve held off my wishes to you, figuring we’d be on the same threads before one of us signs out. :)
BLESSED & MERRY CHRISTmas!!!!
Bush 41 endorsed Romney and dissed both Newt and Perry.......
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Former President George H. W. Bush on Thursday endorsed Mitt Romney and distanced himself from Newt Gingrich, in a move that will surely be a conservative rubber stamp for the former Massachusetts governor's campaign. "cited past conflict with Gingrich as a reason he had trouble backing the former House speaker."
"He [Gingrich] was there, right outside the Oval Office. I met with all the Republican leaders, all the Democratic leaders," Bush recalled to the Chronicle. "The plan was, we were all going to walk out into the Rose Garden and announce this deal. Newt was right there. Got ready to go out in the Rose Garden, and I said, 'Where's Gingrich?' Went up to Capitol Hill. He was here a minute ago. Went up there and started lobbying against the thing."
Bush, who lives in Houston, was careful to say that he likes Texas Gov. Rick Perry, but said that Perry's campaign doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Your candidate couldn’t keep his “drawers” on!
Seems to be working as designed.
Politics is a dirty game. Newt, he of the massive experience just got his entire wardrobe lifted off him. It’s a pity.
>> Addresses did not match their database! Voters move in between elections!
Not only that, but I bet they have a dumb (or selectively smart?) algorithm that thinks “101 First Street” and “101 FIRST ST” are different addresses.
I smell either an idiot, or a rat.
So the former speaker of the house and the longest serving governor of Texas are rank amateurs?
No, something else is going on here, and it looks like VA has unreasonable requirements to get on the ballot.
Uh, I’m not a Newt supporter. Sorry!
Maybe check with Calista? ;)
Yup.
Well they are saying on Twitter that Romney’s campaign people were some of the ones verifying the other candidates signatures.
I’m all but certain both Gingrich and Perry will challenge.
They have nothing to lose by challenging and everything to gain.
