F ootwear brought frenzy to malls in Palm Beach County and across the nation today as police quelled scuffles, unrest and even near-riots among shoppers out to buy the crown jewel of sneakers: the Nike Air Jordan Retro XI.
Officers used pepper spray at the Finish Line store at the Boynton Beach Mall, where some shoppers had tired of waiting in line and began pushing their way into the store. Two people were arrested and a police sergeant taken to Bethesda Memorial Hospital after sustaining injuries to his head and elbows.
"It's a shoe," said Calvin Cannon, a manager at the store. "They were acting like it was the last piece of meat in the world."

Well at the Mall here they closed it down, to much violence made everyone leave and said they would not sell the shoes..
Everytime I see stories like that I move ammo up on my shopping list.

REDONDO BEACH (CBS) — A fight broke out early Friday morning among shoppers waiting to buy the latest edition of a popular Nike shoe at the South Bay Galleria.
The Air Jordan XI Retro Concord went on sale at 5 a.m. Friday at the mall’s Foot Locker. The black and white shoes are a collector’s item and cost $180.
Witnesses say dozens of customers were pushing and shoving to get a pair of the shoes before police were reportedly brought in and sales had to be shut down.
Police ordered customers to leave and come back at 8 a.m., but they wouldn’t depart from the mall.
It is unknown if anyone was injured or if any arrests were made.
There is something wrong with a system which allows people like this to cancel out the vote of hard working Americans.
I'd bet everyone of them was on some taxpayer funded assistance.

I just saw on Drudge a picture of Obama proudly walking with his pair tucked under his arm. Why am I not surprised?
