World Net Daily writer Jerome Corsi may have really stepped in it this time...
Loren Collins, who writes at Barackryphal, just uncovered what could shred whatever little credibility Corsis had.
Loren found that a Dec. 19 article published in WND, headlined, Obamas Legacy of Broken Promises in Kenya seems to have passages in it that were pulled partially or wholly from articles that appeared in the London Evening Standard July 25, 2008 and a May 2011 African news service story.
In his article, Corsi says all but two of the quotes in question came from his inside sources in Kenya.
But as Loren points out, most of Corsis borrowed material seems to have come from quite visible sources:
"In short, every single quote or finding specifically attributed to Corsis unnamed researchers was lifted from an earlier publication by another news agency."
You really need to go to Lorens Web site to read this; he even reprints Corsis article and color codes the questionable passages by their probable origin...

I was asking if you read the article claiming plagiarism...did you? And the “editor's note” on the WND article doesn't deny it...they “regret the error”.
“Let’s just say for argument’s sake Corsi did lift those passages verbatim.”
But lifting passages verbatim is the entire point. That, and making up fake Kenyan sources. Those are ethical violations that usually get journalists fired.
Do we have the zot screen for Loren?
Now that you've committed yourself personally to this lie, I bring you dancing kitties.
Well, it’s obviously yellow journalism! (Rimshot)
Welcome back, LorenC.
“Credibility Loren?”
I dunno. But the evidence she presents is awfully damning. She highlighted all the parts of Corsi’s article that you can see were copied from that British article, and the result is that like HALF of Corsi’s article is covered in yellow.
What problems do you have with the case she makes against Corsi?
“Looks like Corsi has already explained this.”
I, for one, am not buying that explanation. In fact, I see where the blogger addressed that in her post. She pointed out that Corsi linked to the Evening Standard, and even included citations to it.
WND’s explanation that they were snookered by Kenyans (who Corsi claimed were “trusted Kenyan professionals” and people he’s worked with since 2008), doesn’t add up. It means that Corsi read the Evening Standard article in order to excerpt the portions he cited, and completely missed all the other parts of their article that he was copying exactly.
And I GAVE you that point in order to continue with the argument. It does not change what he has uncovered on Obama previously. Most of it is verifiable. You can't un-ring a bell.
First off Loren is an effeminate male and second, he's an OBot with no credibility with me.
You are lying!!
I've never called Corsi a truther. PERIOD!
I've never known him to be one. However, he absolutely went on Alex Jones to promote his Birth Certificate book. Corsi made his choice to wallow in the mud with the conspiracy nuts.
See ya.
Joining a conservative web site, then, within ten days posting a specious argument about a conservative writer shows lack of judgement, and leads one to question your motives.
Yes, Corsi is controversial, but well worth listening to.
He was among the first to ring the bells about Obumbo’s
questionable birth story, which still looks most suspicious,
with the release of a new and obviously fraudulent birth certificate.
As for you, son, you should consider the wise saying, paraphrasing, of course:
Better to be thought a fool, then to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.
