Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey said Tuesday that the United States can successfully attack Iran, if necessary. His biggest worry is that Iran will "miscalculate our resolve.
Dempsey, speaking to CNN during a worldwide tour, spoke one day after Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta warned that the American government will not allow Iran to produce a nuclear weapon. He said that if Iran continues to enrich high-grade uranium, it could produce a nuclear weapon within a year, an estimate formerly given by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak.
"My biggest worry is they [Iran] will miscalculate our resolve," Dempsey said in Afghanistan. "Any miscalculation could mean that we are drawn into conflict, and that would be a tragedy for the region and the world."
Besides repeating the often-used phrase all options are on the table, General Dempsey went one step further and declared, "I am satisfied that the options that we are developing are evolving to a point that they would be executable if necessary.
It was the most blatant warning made regarding Irans growing nuclear threat.

When will we be ready with fully evolved options? Two.
World ends at ten. Details at eleven.
“We Can Successfully Attack Iran”
Certainly we can. Then what? Another sharia law craphole regime?
FYI - I’ve been doing a unclassified report on IRAQ since 12 DEC 2011 - when most everything that the US Army was producing went to the high side...
Find it here: http://babylonscovertwar.com/page1.html
It has a lot of incidents that point to breaking out of the foundation that IRGC has established since 2005 - alto of things are happening right now in Iraq - that are indicators of future intentions...
Enjoy!
well if he’s a serving general saying this ‘in school’,
we must be sending a message that setting them up the bomb
is a distinct possible option in Iran’s future.
Gee...ya think? Was this even a question in anyone's mind?
The issue is not if we can, but if we should and then what the endgame is.
Can we attack Iran—YES, We can attack anyone, but can we win the war? Yes—if we have the resolve, and that will never come with a person like Obama in the White House. He will pace the floor while out men are chewed up. Stay out of the war unless we want to put a whole lot of hurt on these people—take the heat from the leftist MSM and UN. i don’t think the USA has the stomach for such things today. The enemy knows this and will push us as much as they link—we are a blind and impotent giant—a cowardly lion who only picks on little nations—we can beat. Would Americans even tolerate a Draft? I don’t think so.
Certainly we can. Then what? Another sharia law craphole regime?

who cares?
It will be a sharia craphole without a nuke.
Its just that extended warfare crap that hurts us.
No!
Either destroy them from the air or stay out!
I have been hearing that Iran can make the bomb within one year for five years now.
Bet if we invade Iran, they nuke our troops and Russia and China get paid by that for all the investing they did giving the bomb and ICBM systems to Iran.
Then Russia and China invade here.
Just my take on things...
“miscalculate our resolve”? LOL! I think they have our “resolve” estimated to the nth degree.
The endgame is to wait the ten or how many years it takes for the glass to cool.
And FReepers wonder why Ron Paul is getting traction. This perpetual state of war for leftist causes that get nothing for the American people has to stop.
Some folks would like to nuke Mecca, or Tehran.
Ron Paul would be more likely to nuke Tel Aviv or Jerusalem.
Impressive.
We know. We've heard of 0bama too.
hmmmm....perhaps this is the reason for the troop pull-out of Iraq. Commence invasion pre 2012 election.
Obama will start a war with Iran in late August 2012, in order to get re-elected. He’ll do it in August when everyone is distracted by summer vacation.
That might backfire.
We will find
sooner or later
if Achmed’ll pray
to a glowing crater
