Her own party wants to “cut” the year’s extension of the payroll tax cut to only the first two months of next year (something which the agencies that administer this say cannot physically be done in time for the cuts to be maintained— they need sixty days), that is to say— the DEMOCRATS want to increase taxes on the payrolls and on social security recipients who are to get a COLA for the first time in 2 years. I think it’s very dubious as to whether this “tax cut” should exist in the first place. They would have been better off mailing everyone a check for $1,200, or whatever, and applying it to the deficit(as Bush did). This really isn’t a tax cut at all. It’s simply a reduction of what we pay into the Social Security fund. People’s federal income taxes haven’t went down a cent, all the while driving Socialist InSecurity toward insolvency at a faster pace.
