We either kill them or we dont, you cant negotiate with these animals.
(Reuters) After 10 months of secret dialogue with Afghanistans Taliban insurgents, senior U.S. officials say the talks have reached a critical juncture and they will soon know whether a breakthrough is possible, leading to peace talks whose ultimate goal is to end the Afghan war.
As part of the accelerating, high-stakes diplomacy, Reuters has learned, the United States is considering the transfer of an unspecified number of Taliban prisoners from the Guantanamo Bay military prison into Afghan government custody.
It has asked representatives of the Taliban to match that confidence-building measure with some of their own. Those could include a denunciation of international terrorism and a public willingness to enter formal political talks with the government headed by Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

Bacha Bazi Barak can kiss my Rebel ____!
And then we get attacked again.......
We give them their terrorists back to they can fight again, and they promise to be good boys and girls?
How many of the supposedly innocent terrs we released have later been killed in further combat with US soldiers and marines?
that’s one way to close the place. apparently he doesn’t care how he closes it.
he won’t be able to get elected dog catcher in a dogless town if he does this.
The catch and release program has to end.
Same with the muslim in chief program. How can we fight them when our leader is one of them?
Do these idiots really imagine any “peace” deal will last more than 5 seconds after we vacate the country? Of course not. This is all about declaring victory (spin) with giving a rats behind about what happens after.
For those who may not get it, it’s October 2012, we get the news that we have made a peace deal with the terrorists and Obama has saved the world.......and wins in a landslide.......
Or Peace, peace, peace, then comes utter destruction....
“Reuters has learned, the United States is considering the transfer of an unspecified number of Taliban prisoners from the Guantanamo Bay military prison into Afghan government custody.”
They need more room at Gitmo for the US citizens I mean dometic terrorists they are going to start rounding up.
Barack is brilliant! If the Jews would only talk to the Arabs, they could have peace, too! /sarc
Soooo,
obammy is planning to release Gitmo prisoners so they can go out and kill Americans again?
Way to go obammy you F-ing POS.
He has little time to spare, the elections are in less than a year.
After the Lockerbie bomber deal, is anyone surprised....?
Sounds like Obama and begging on the Drone all over again.
Spot on! How much more damage can Obama do before election day?
SURRENDER ALERT!
I suspect the political spin will be that the folks at Guantanamo who end up being released (if this is A)in fact in the works; and B) ever comes to pass), had no evidence against them/were not really involved in terrorists/etc. No less of an outrage, of course. But I think that would be the “face” put on it.
As for Afghanistan’s ultimate fate...I wish I had more optimism in my heart. There is no doubt U.S. and allied troops have done a magnificent job there, and will continue to go above and beyond for as long as they are in Afghanistan. My fears are on the Afghan side of the equation. I have my doubts they will ever manage to put together a national government that will be stable and trustworthy (to U.S. interests) long-term. At best, I think we will see something akin to Pakistan - an ally with sharply divided loyalties and significant portions of the country where central authority is tenuous at best.
Why not have a 48 hour extension of the tax “cut”? LOL. What damnable JERKS we have in Congress!
