The Talk Shows
December 18th, 2011
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): 2012 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): 2012 GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann; House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio; Gov. Nikki Haley, R-S.C.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): 2012 GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Reps. Barney Frank, D-Mass., and Paul Ryan, R-Wis.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): 2012 GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman; Sens. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., and Robert Menendez, D-N.J.
I have heard Newt do it in the past not recently.
It's all part of zeros/soros' plan to destroy everything and rebuild it in a Marxist mold. And you are absolutely correct. Cutting the amount of money that goes into the SS fund(if it really existed) simply destroys the fund much quicker which is what the regime wants. Destroy the fund and everyone will look to big govt. to sustain SS.This plays right into the hand of the socialists.
My prediction:
The minute Romney becomes a candidate, **then** the Marxist mainstream press will dig up every nutty thing every said by any Mormon “prophet”. Romney will be smeared non-stop as a racist for having been a member of this church ( and holding responsible leadership positions in it) at time when blacks could not hold their “priesthood”. His polygamous ancestors will be resurected.
Then...one week before the election a few disaffected former Mormons will swear that they witnessed baby sacrifice in the Mormon temples. Four months later retractions will be printed in part E on page 57 of the Sunday editions.
Bet on it!
He is totally unacceptable. I do wonder about Nikki? There must be something in it for her, but what?
Have to respectfully disagree. Look what Obama has done to the country in just 3 years. We cannot withstand 4 more years even if it means just keeping socialism at bay and not destroying it.
We have a couple of candidates, one in particular, who wants to shake up Washington. Let’s go with that.
Well Newt never did clarify or deny using his influence on top Republicans, and Bachmann pointing out that makes me want to know, if true, who was Newt influencing and on what? I believe it had to do with the Freddie Mac consulting.
I dig cynicism but you’re way over the top.
Newt will not cede to Mitt, nor will Perry.
That’s ridiculous. Mitt will have to win on his own and conservatives don’t like Mitt. He does have the party backing mostly because he wouldn’t change things and they don’t like change. It scares them.
But the party is not the people. Cheer up.
In regards to RINO’s taking over the party, I think it's actually been their party for a number of years now. We (as Conservaitves) have chosen to pretend it still represents us.
I'm all done pretending.
Of course, everybody wants to trim the field (except for their own candidate), but what, really is the point of Bachmann and Huntsman staying in? Or Santorum?
You need to fess up and add Perry to your list. And the answer is, they are all staying in now to try to mark themselves the 2016 designee, as Romney is the 2012 designee.
Soon enough, however, the ones who want a future in the family will drop out and kiss the ring of Mittens the Myth.
It’s how the game is played.
When you ask that question and keep coming back repeatedly with 'how much is enough' when they try to obfuscate, it stops them in their tracks. I have yet to see a direct answer to the question.
LOL - maybe he needs to do as Rush does - tie half his brain behind his back, just to make it fair. :-)))
Likewise, why did Krystal come out and say the House wanted unemployment extended a year while the Senate only wanted it for 2 months, like that is a good thing. Let them cut it to two months and let’s debate the value of a permanent welfare check disguised as unemployment.
We can’t be against gummit programs while extending these benefits. Everyone knows there are plenty who are simply clipping coupons while not looking.
Merry Christmas
I’ll tell you what, altura. I was wrong about Shieffer. Unless I’m punch-drunk from staying up all night with the Dell remote technician fixing my computer, he was very nice to Gingrich.
Now, I’ll watch the second half of FNSunday. Chris Wallace is sure in the tank for Romney, who couldn’t make it into the studio like the other candidates. No, he had to have a nicely lit Christmas background.
Hair Force One!
LOLOLOLOL.
I hate to say it but I think we have to circle around Newt. He has won the debates on substance and is the only one who can beat the media since everybody knows everything about him. He will run circles around uhhhh.....ummmm......aaaaaaa.....whats his name.
Again, Bray is exactly right.
But the problem is that Newt is possibly more leftie than Mittens on many issues. He’s just NOT INSIDE REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT and that in itself makes me root for him. Not withstanding the fact that some of his positions are just god-awful. And the fact that he instinctually opts for liberal positions when an issue first arises—to wit: amnesty, cap and tax, yikes!
But Newt does also get around to telling the truth about things, and that’s different. Even when the truth hurts.
I think you are right. Once the debates are over (and Perry is starting to do well even in that forum) Perry will be talking to the people. He does great in what they call retail politics.
He does well in interviews and speeches and the more people know him the better they like him. He does have the likeability factor that is so important.
And, per my vow, not trashing Newt but is anybody getting tired of that voice? It’s starting to grate on me.
Still haven’t watched the Newt interview, curious to see how that goes.
Plus, Perry can run on his record. He’s been in the public eye in Texas for well over 11 years and withstood constant attacks from the liberal press. They’ve dug into his closet for years trying to find something and all they can find are old boots.
In eleven years he’s done great things. He’s done maybe 4 things that conservatives didn’t like ... not bad in 11 years and even those are not that bad.
He can counter Obama’s record with his record in any argument. He’s taking it to Obama more strongly than any candidate and also taking it to the Washington establishment.
Bachmann was there every step of the way to oppose TARP, Stimulus, and Democrat Health Care. Bachmann also understands what it will take legislatively to get rid of Democrat Health Care, something the other candidates havent made me so confident about.
She’s a reliable conservative and GREAT when she hones in directly on the ISSUES. She oughta be Speaker of the House (not Son House). But her campaign has been dismal, just dismal. She just wasn’t ready for prime time. At this point she only has operatives in Iowa, is broke and I am guessing she will drop out by Jan 15.
Hi fishtalk!
Yes, I read about her endorsement of Romney too. Rush is right! Anyone and everyone whoever hopes to run for GOP elected office has to endorse Romney if they hope to get Rove’s and RNC help. Christine has lost the TEA Party forever.
“No good deed goes unpunished.”
Merry CHRISTmas!!
Did you see the honest Democrat running?

How did we become a country where it is a Federal offence to make an incandescent light bulb or a toilet that consumes more than 1.6 gallons per flush?
Better idea: IF ITS PERCEIVED TO BE BAD, DONT BAN IT, TAX IT.
Its a lot easier to collect these taxes and much more profitable for the Treasury. Get them at the plant or port, like alcohol, tires and gasoline.
Thinking of a bad word about Rove, but won’t say it.
After all, it is Sunday and almost Christmas.
