I think part of the fun of watching sports is debating the rise of new stars and they are going to perform. The way to measure them is by comparisons against existing records.
I admire Brady's record because he was overlooked in the draft and came from nowhere (in a sense) to make all the scouts and prognosticators wonder how they missed him.
Tebow has a bit more pedigree with the Heisman. But, "they" all say he doesn't have what it takes. That makes me his fan right from the start. I love the underdogs and the guys who fly under the radar until their performance is impossible to ignore.
Back in the 80's the 49ers used their first round pick to claim a receiver from a division 1AA school; Mississippi Valley State University who didn't even get a single scholarship offer from a Division 1A school. We all know how that went.
