"Tebow has six comebacks in the fourth quarter and OT this season, I think he's got a good idea how the whole 'elevate my level of play in the final five minutes' thing works." SN
Except fot the fact that his opponents have been largely quite weak.... IMO, New England is going to rip them up and spit them out.
Before Tebow became the starter, Denver was weaker than most of them.
Tebow has ALOT of work to do before we can say he is better than Brady.
Tebow will not say he is better than Brady. He will say God is greater than any of us and that with God all things are possible. He is teaching us about praying and giving thanks at a time when we sorely need it. May God continue to bless him and all of us.
Brady has some of the best pass receiver in the NFL.Tebows’ no-name receivers are far from that.
For all you nuts who think that God takes sides in sporting events, get a life! God would pick Tebow over other Christians? Ridiculous! If that were so, Tebow would never throw an incompleted pass. This thing is getting out of hand. On the other hand, there is this story going around.....
Moses, Jesus and another guy were out playing golf one day. Moses pulled up to the tee and drove a long one. It landed in the fairway but rolled directly toward a water trap. Quickly Moses raised his club, the water parted and it rolled to the other side, safe and sound.
Next, Jesus strolled up to the tee and hit a nice long one directly toward the same water trap. It landed directly in the center of the pond and kind of hovered over the water. Jesus casually walked out on the pond and chipped it up onto the green.
The third guy got up and sort of randomly whacked the ball. It headed out over the fence and into on-coming traffic on a nearby street. It bounced off a truck and hit a nearby tree. From there it bounced onto the roof of a nearby shack and rolled down into the gutter, down the downspout, out onto the fairway and right toward the aforementioned pond. On the way to the pond, it hit a little stone and bounced out over the water and onto a lily pad where it rested quietly. Suddenly, a very large bullfrog jumped up on the lily pad and snatched the ball into his mouth. Just then, an eagle swooped down and grabbed the frog and flew away. As they passed over the green, the frog squealed with fright and dropped the ball, which bounced right into the hole for a beautiful hole in one.
Moses then turned to Jesus and said, “I hate playing with your Dad.”
And yet he wasn’t selected until the sixth round in the 2000 NFL draft. Go figure, eh?
Did you just land from space?
Your own note reveals some issues -
1. Everyone knows running reduces the clock ...
Yes - including Pats coaches - arguably best in league for a decade.
2. 3 fewer drives/game - result in 10 points lower scoring?
Care to back that up with some data? Are you talking DRIVES or posessions?
3. Brady can - and will today - score in an under 2:00 drive.
4. All this fantasy about Pat’s defense and YARDS - why not point to the POINTS they give up per game? While you are busy - look up where Green Bay is in yards/points/game.
I think Tebow is great. As I said before - If Broncos do not disrupt Brady MAJOR in the first half - this game is over at halftime.
Pats primary weakness is pass defense - Tebow is not the tyope quarterback to take advantage of that.
I have ignored nothing. Pats are not as great this year as before - but Broncos are catching them on the wrong week.
Long time Pats fan here also.
Don’t give up on the playoffs, for all the problems with the D (changing scheme + no off season + injuries) they have allowed fewer points than either the Packers, or Saints. The games lost were due primarily to Brady ints when he had the arm problem.
Just saying.
“Joe Montana is the greatest - pure leadership skills unmatched - no interceptions in any of his Super Bowl appearances - despite not having the physical attributes that most QB possess”
As I said he could. Currently Brady has the highest winning % of any QB in the SB era (.779 currently vs .713 for Montana, higher winning % in playoffs too), has more wins that Montana, and a higher career TD/INT ratio (best in NFL History)
If he wins another SB he will have as many SB wins as Montana and more SB appearances and more playoff wins.
Brady is GOAT IF (big IF) he wins another SB.
San Francisco during the Montana era was a great dynasty, but they had a huge benefit from being in one of the all-time weakest divisions in the NFL (NFC West).
From the mid-70s until '95, it was one of the few divisions to only have 4 teams (the competitive divisions had 5), and the competition in the NFC West was a joke (Saints, Rams, Falcons). The 49ers easily won the division every year and with such weak division competition, they were able to usually clinch home field advantage during the playoffs.
Not saying this takes away from Montana's accomplishments, but Brady has played against much, much tougher competition during the regular season and the playoffs.
I think you have to say the Tebow is "more clutch" than Brady, today. As a young quarterback, no one was more clutch Tom "Tuck Rule". Brady's forte was his coolheadedness in clutch situations. Now he shouts at the offensive coordinator after throwing an interception.
Brady has two tremendous tools that Tebow does not: Gronkowsky and Welker. His other receivers are pretty good, too. One thing about Patriot receivers is that none of them are afraid to fight for the ball, which is one reason Brady throws so few I-N-Ts.
It’s the Tebow show!!!
It’s Tebow’s faith in God....
He's still learning. Don't make him Joe Montana or even Steve Young. He's got a ways to go, but could be at that level someday.
