GOP candidates for Congress bullish on Gingrich at top of ticket

The hottest argument in Republican circles these days isnt about immigration, taxes or even health care policy. Its about New Gingrich and whether nominating him as the party standard-bearer would be disastrous or providential.
The pundits and professional consultants have weighed in on the question in a largely negative manner but many of the Republican candidates seeking election to Congress next fall dont appear to share the concerns the GOP establishment seems to have about the impact Gingrich would have on downballot races as their presidential nominee. A dozen of the GOPs top recruits to run for Congress, part of the National Republican Congressional Committees Young Guns program for 35 promising candidates, said in interviews with NBCPolitics.com over the last week that theyre not worried about running with the former House speaker at the top at the ticket. Some are downright excited about the prospect.
"Ive been telling people all along that Newt is the real thing, and hes substantially different than when he was Speaker of the House," said Dave Garrison, the Republican challenging Democratic Rep. Lloyd Doggett in Texas.
I think for my race, my views are more in line with Newt Gingrich, and if the base rallies behind a Newt Gingrich-like candidate, it will benefit me, said another Republican running for Congress in the southwestern U.S., who asked for anonymity in order to speak candidly about the race. I think Newts a more exciting candidate; hes going to bring more attention to the conservative cause.

I've slipped into a FReaky parallel universe...
Maybe I missed the transition, but when did FR become a place that cheers for Newt Gingrich for President? I guess things have gotten so bad, even he looks good now.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be voting for the (R) no matter what next November -- Obama is a force of destruction that hates our country, but my enthusiasm for upcoming election is completely gone.
Rah-Rah Newt? No thanks.

Unfortunately, that’s the situation we are now in.
To: Jim Robinson
this is the time that Sarah Palin needs to come out and enthusiastically endorse Newt Gingrich.. her endorsement now would automatically send the Niki Haley, Chris Christi, Ann Coulter ect,ect endorsements of Romney(who wouldn’t be seen with the Tea Party) to the who cares level and put the values of the Tea Party front and center again.. Palin’s endorsement(against the establishment.. let’s remember she threw out the Republican establishment in Alaska) might create an unstoppable Gingrich momentum like Reagan got in 1980 to where Romney couldn’t stop it.. her endorsement would be HUGE
To: Jim Robinson
OK, that I liked. Not ready to order a bumper sticker yet, but will try to keep an open mind towards Newt. Blessings...

Here is a link which provides answers to common attacks on Newt, and which invites readers to submit requests for issues they would like addressed by the official Newt Gingrich campaign:

It has a lot of FACTual information.
you're welcome.

You say: “Rebellion is brewing”
Damn straight - ans here’s they guy newt wants for his VP -
This ticket would cause apoplexy within the Establishment pubbie and hari kari would be rampant through Lib-Vamp and the media would turn into Susan “Estrogen” on the night of Bush’s win - drunk, disheveled with tears streaking down their faces.
Here’s the video of Newt’s pick when he was running for
Congress - where he has become the most known new senator - because he says it like it is.

I’m mildly concerned about the several articles and news scrolls about Newt being “battered” in the debate (I thought he fought back and did well addressing the ISSUES), and Romney being “energized”.

Nice compilation of largely unsourced materialespecially the excerpts from RP and Alex Jones sites, lol.
#1) This isn’t the same kind of individual mandate per Obamacare. If you listen to what he actually says:
“GINGRICH: If I see somebody who’s earning over $50,000 a year, who has made the calculated decision not to buy health insurance, I’m looking at somebody who is absolutely as irresponsible as anyone who was ever on welfare. Because what they’ve said is, A, I’m gambling that I won’t get sick, and B, I’m gambling that if I do get sick, I can cheat all my neighbors. Now, when you talk to hospitals, a very significant part of their non-collectibles are people who have money, but have calculated it’s not worth the cost to pay. And so I’m actually in favor of finding a way to say, whatever the appropriate level of income is, you ought to have either health insurance, or you ought to post a bond. But we have no right in this society to have a free rider approach, if we’re well off economically, to cheat our neighbors.” Source: http://nation.foxnews.com/newt-gingrich/2011/11/29/2005-flashback-video-newt-backs-individual-mandate
#2) Sharpton is sketchy to be sure, but I can understand that pairing the two makes for strong publicity. I don’t see anything about promoting socialist education policies in here.
#3) Climate change or anthropogenic climate change? There’s a big difference between the two. It’s one thing to say that climate change is occurring and that we ought to understand it and what it may doit’s quite another to say that humans are influencing climate change in any significant way. AFAIK, his stated position on that is “we don’t know.” I’m fine with that position, because given the available scientific facts and evidence, “we don’t know” is the honest answer.
#4) This claim has no provided source, so I’ve no idea what was actually said.
#5) Even the source admits that the vast majority of the co-authored legislative proposals were innocuous: “Many of the bills Gingrich and Pelosi co-sponsored were hardly divisive: authorizing an award for Mother Teresa, giving a congressional gold medal to former President Gerald Ford and recognizing the 50th anniversary of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.”
With exception of 1 potential bill which never made it out of committee. This sounds like a non-issue to me.
#6) Didn’t hear anything about amnesty and he’s stated he would secure the border within a year. Is there a single candidate who has vowed to throw every single illegal out, no exceptions? Don’t think so.
#7) Funny how the cited source (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJb2NfqwghY) cuts off mid-sentence. I wonder what Newt actually said.
#8) Symptom of a growing economy, perhaps? Tax revenues increased under Reagan, too. I guess Reagan was a liberal.
#9) $1.6 million paid out to a consulting firm over the course of 10 years, is chump change. And apparently Newt didn’t do anything that Freddie Mac believed they could use on their behalfperhaps because Newt told them what they didn’t want to hear? I don’t see what the big deal here is.
#10) Rand Paul is obviously stumping for daddy, so none of this is even worth addressing.

It is always the same. Same thing happened with Bush, McCain, ect....
It starts out with I would never vote for candidate X. And it ends with -You are a traitor if you don’t. You are a leftest OWS loving traitor if you don’t. The reality is that Newt is more of the same old thing. He will change anything in the long run from what it is unless he is absolutely forced to do so. Such as the US can’t borrow anymore money. Newt played a large part in forming the system as it is. Truth is that he loves things as they are. Freddie, Fanny, The borrow and spend game, Insider trading, Deception, all the corruption. He was born out of it, and he is not going to be changing much in this lifetime. Word is that his budget plan leaves us once heck of a hole once again.
But then who can say that Newt is any worse than the people he wants to represent. The people he wants to vote for him. He is not any different really. Just like Newt, the people who vote for him are never going to learn anything either. Worse- They are never going to stop being gullible. They are never going to learn anything different. We are close the end now. The Grand ole USA. And we are voluntarily jumping on the train that is heading over the cliff. I guess it is no wonder that I have kind of lost my faith in humanity. I know that it is vanity to post things like this, but once in awhile I just can’t help but cry out.
