I got a direct flight to Lihue. I absolutely love Kauai.I researched the heck out of it and was able to drive and identify restaurants, hotels and points of interest at first sighting. I was in a state of melancholy when I left. A perfect week at a perfect place. Because of finances, I’ll probably never return but the memories I’ll have forever.

I understand. I don’t know if we will ever have an opportunity to go back, but the memories remain a treasure.

We liked Maui, but we liked Kauai a lot, too. Great beaches everywhere. We enjoyed the south side—including Waimea Canyon and other sites. (We also saw a Hawaiian Monk Seal at Salt Pond State Park.)

But we thought that the real jewel was the North Shore of Kauai—the wildlife refuge and lighthouse, Hanalei Bay, the Napali Coast, the ‘’Bali Hai’’ scenery, the backdrop of Mount Waialeale and the taro fields, the Green Church, etc., etc. Good memories.
