Where: Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa.
When: 9 p.m. EST, 6 p.m. PST, Saturday, December 10, 2011. Debate scheduled to last two hours.
Broadcast on: ABC Televsion.
Moderators: Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos.
Candidates: Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum.
Perry seems to be emerging from the fog.
Even my grandma can talk faster than Diane Sawyer.
Looks like we can expect the attacks on Perry threads to be amped up tomorrow.
Except he left wide open the argument that nanny-staters usually fall back on which is ‘harming others’. They use that all the time for smoking bans, restrictions on what restaurants can serve and to whom, and even having CPS jump in and take children from homes because they may not have government approved nutrition.
“Perry seems to be emerging from the fog.”
He’s doing fairly well tonight, though bringing up Mitt’s book AGAIN was completely boneheaded.
Newt is still my first choice, but Rick Perry is doing best tonight. Several times, Perry cut through the bull that everyone else was allowing to pile up.
I wish Perry would stop talking about cutting congresses pay, since congress legislates their own pay, BUT I think he is dead nuts on when he says that congress should have to live under the laws that they pass.
He is on to a serious problem that we need to fix.
And the notion of super committees is unAmerican
And who is Neera Tanden, and did she eat Urkel? She sounds like him!
She’s been on Twitter, whining about the barbs at Obozo.
He says he hates the format.
So do I but I’m not a politician. He has to live or die by it.
Was that Michele or Michelle who was accused of being a left-wing hag?
One of them may be.
Do you notice that, also? And he ends up saying nothing!! And you don't know what it is like to be poor unless you have been - not by his parents telling him about it. He's repulsive.
I think Mitts handlers have overdone his candidacy from the start and it has literally blown up in his face. When he is confronted with someone like Newt who has the ability to think on his feet and think with a conservative bent Romney comes us severely lacking. Romney is just not in Newt's league and it shows.
Best part I like tonight was when Newt Ginrich gave a Reagonited answer on the Palestinian question.
When did they stop?
Ron Paul makes sense on the economic matters.
Lol, he needs to crapcan that one.
Youll note that whenever a candidate begins to attack Obama, Steffy is switching the question, or goes to break?
******************************************
Little Georgie is doing his job.....LOL
Did you notice his pained expression after Perry’s impassioned attack on Washington (Obama)?
Probably as high octane as Granny Clampet’s spring tonic.
It cured coughs and a whole lot more, but if you took enough, you didn’t care anway.
I lean to Gingrich. He is head and shoulders above the others on knowledge of the issues. His position on capital gains tax slashing is pure Reaganite, and spot on. Having said that, Rick Perry has distinguished himself very well. Romney better look over his shoulder - Perry is gaining on him. Perry was very good in taking this Palestine issue on redirecting the heat to Obama where it belongs. Newt was not only appreciative, but impressed. Good thinking on your feet, Rick.
We could do a lot worse than Gingrich / Perry.
