DES MOINES Presidential contender Rick Perry said there are eight Supreme Court justices, not nine, and flubbed Justice Sonia Sotomayors (SOHN-ya soh-toh-my-YOR) name in an editorial board meeting at The Des Moines Register.
Perry met with the board Friday. He struggled for six seconds to come up with Sotomayors name, then initially called the justice Montemayor. A member of the newspapers editorial board helped him out with the correct name.

Thanks for the new link. That song tends to get blocked and requires a new link. (Looks like I need to clean up my page a bit anyway.)
Rugby? Can’t say for sure. I’m big on football - GO PACK GO!! LOL!
I don't think it is too much to ask that our candidate be able to think on his feet and speak the King's English.
Ronald Reagan did not sound like he fell off of a turnip truck.
When I first heard the line in the media about "Rick Perry is George Bush without the brains", I thought to myself, here we go again, another conservative being tagged unfairly with the "dumb" label.
I couldn't wait to hear him in a debate, to have him exceed all expectations, and shut all the liberal bastards up.
Then I watched him implode time and time again. At this point I think the liberals were understating the case against him.
The boy just ain't that bright.
Seriously?
When did minor verbal slip-ups become worthy of major news headlines?
Sheesh.
When that’s the closest to negative about Perry they can get.
They got nothing.
Odd Onion is not associated with Free Republic in any official way.
The only unofficial link is that Odd Onion is owned and run by a FReeper. (Me.)
With that usage, I often post articles from FR to OO and OO to FR.
I can in no manner tell Jim what to do, nor does Jim have any oversight at OO.
Rick Perry is too nice man to be running for President with the kind of scum and villainy of the media at his heels. we need a pitbull with three assholes ... like Newt Gingrich. The yapping vermin of media must have their widdle heads biten off to stop them. Rick is too nice and too much the gentleman to do it properly. Newt rips off their little pinheads and spits down their throats!
As an affirmative action promotion, it is likely that little barry bassturd never had to take the LSAT to get in. He is living pooping proof of why affirmative action is slow national suicide in action.
Brett Baier played a snippet of his interview with the Des Moines Register that showed him searhing for her name.
Governor Perry looked tired to me, much the same as Herman CCain when he was caught on a video tape during his interview with WI newspaper.
I think it’s painfully apparent that Govenor Perry doesn’t have a quickest sense of recall, but I think he would make a good president.
For his ardent supporters, it’s getting him elected that’s the hard part and interviews like this on tape aren’t helpful at all.
Thanks. Good luck with your site.
Except for the fact that he was also Lt. Governor and the first Republican Lt. Governor ever elected in Texas. Oh and he was the chair of the Republican Governors Association and has balanced several budgets,”
Uhh, Texas always has a balanced budget - it’s required by our Texas constitution. He became Lt. Gov. mainly because he was down ticket of Bush being elected governor that year. Bush brought in many Republican straight ticket voters. At that time, most election machines were manual - pull one lever and vote for all Republicans on the ticket.
“Funny, a box of rocks is to the right of Rick Perry in political stance also.”
That made me laugh.
“He (Newt) however has no money and no one wants to give him money.”
So the money I and my friends keep sending isn’t getting there? Are you the treasurer of his campaign? If so, please trace down our money. Thanks,
Its all good Normy. I know Newt has some serious baggage. I also know Perry is not a dumb ass contrary to what people say here on this website.
