One impression I had in the late 70’s was that Carter was just a dope and had no idea what he was doing. He seemed to have some modicum of American Exceptionalism. Today I have the impression that Obummer is fully aware of what he is doing. They both are ending up with the same results, it’s just that Obummer is excited about them.
I tend to agree. He has a lot of bile against America, Israel, and Britain. And he is working sucessfully to destroy the first two, at least.

Carter was an inept dope. Obama is an evil marxist who’s too dumb yo realize we all know it.
He really doesn't care. His agenda is well on its way and God save us, if he gets another 4 years this republic will go the way of the Roman Empire.
Carter was dumb in office, but at least he didn’t try to intentionally destroy the U.S., and I have to think that his heart was in the right place.
Also, he is, and was born and raised, an American.

Carter contacted our deadly enemies, the USSR, to try to get their help to stop Reagan from winning one of the elections.
From the stories I've heard, he also was able to hide his peevishness and smallness from the general public but was really a nasty, small minded, viscous man in life.
I believe he used religion to hide behind, too, and to make himself more acceptable to those of us who believe in God.
Obama just has a better handler, in my opinion, and isn't hiding what he truly is right now.
Of course, in the last little bit, he's trying to go to the center and is reving up religion and such to make himself more palatable for those with very short memories.
Both of these men, in my opinion, are socialist/communist and seek to destroy the U.S.
