PICKET: Source - Rahm Emanuel involved in Cain sexual harassment accuser attacks
Washington Times ^ | 11/02/2011 | Kerry Picket

Posted on 12/01/2011 4:39:34 PM PST by Fred

UPDATE -Mayor Emanuel is denying he is involved in anyway with the exchange of information regarding Cain's sexual harassment accusers.

Herman Cain's campaign is revealing suspicions about who is behind the story regarding the former unidentified employees who accused Mr. Cain of sexual harassment in the late 1990's.

According to a source who is friends with the Cain campaign, not only is the Rick Perry campaign involved but also the Mayor of Chicago and former Obama White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is likely involved with the sexual harassment accuser attacks. A friend of the Cain campaign believes a National Restaurant Association (NRA) employee out of the Chicago office leaked the story to the Perry campaign via information and influence from Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office.

According to Politico's Jonathan Martin, Curt Anderson, the Perry advisor who the Cain campaign is accusing of leaking the damaging information, is denying the charges:

Well blaming them takes the beam off Cain for a while.

Did he or didn’t he?
Just like 0—some things just can’t be proven. How convenient.

I doubt that either Rahm whom I detest or Perry’s ‘people’ had anything to do with it. I think it fits 0’s underhandedness of getting the dirty. IMO

Having said that, I admit I was looking at Cain at the start but I truly believe he doesn’t have what it takes to be a president. Maybe down the road. He can’t say he would just get people to tell him what should be done. Sorry, he may be a softy and generous person but that’s not what we need..

I agree with the assessment that 35-40K is "nuisance settlement" money.

Did not do much in the way of sexual harassment claims, those didn't really catch fire until the 90s, but in the 80s I was very active defending personal injury and fire claims, representing trucking companies and their insurers as well as property insurers.

It would take us between $40 and $50K in costs to take a case through a jury trial, given 3-4 fact witnesses, a couple of doctors, and a bunch of documents. We frequently settled cases in the $20-30K range rather than go to trial, even when the plaintiff's claim was completely without merit. I would expect that by the 1990s the cost of settlement had gone up along with lawyers' fees and everything else.

We tried one arson case to a jury one time when the face value of the policy was only $25K and the trial cost $50K - took about a week in federal court (diversity). Our client wanted to discourage other fraudulent arson claims and decided this was a good one to spread the word with.

It was. The jury deliberated for about an hour and came back with a complete defense verdict.

This is not news. This is simply an un-sourced rumor.

It is not my job to restore Herman Cain’s good name. That doesn’t mean I believe the accusations, but I don’t disbelieve them either. I don’t know the truth but, in terms of voting, it doesn’t matter any more.

Another example that the argument of racism doesn’t exist for blacks who have graduated to conservatism. Liberals punish all blacks who dare to leave the plantation. Cheers to Cain for making something of himself.

“I suspect that Gov.Perry and Mr.Cain have had previous encounters, er, head-butting sessions. Remember - Perry has been Governor of Texas for quite a while and Herman Cain was a business CEO and industry leader, and both are Republicans. People in those positions probably had reasons to meet and interact.

It has been very apparent that Herman Cain doesn’t trust the Governor of Texas. Are personal reasons involved? Perhaps. There may even be folks here at FR who are in on the know and can shed some light on this?”

That’s one of the most absurd, fruitcake assessments I’ve read yet on FR. You “suspect” Cain and Perry might have met in past years, etc. ad infinitum. Pathetic.

That’s lovely but we do have a ‘religion’ forum for such comments.

Illinois senate seat, second term, not US Senate.

Even if all you won was a seat as a county treasurer, or were just a campaign bundler for someone, or are involvd in a group such a the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the other party takes note and keeps a dossier on you just in case you get ambitious. Heck, the Dems went to the trouble of passing a state law about doctor shopping down here just to try to set up Rush Limbaugh a few years later - and it worked.

My husband is a pastor who gets lots of calls for help from this or that person who can’t pay their electric bill or needs gas to get to the next town. There’s a Ministerial Association that has a fund for those kinds of things but there was nothing in that fund for a lot of the year this past year. I know of some instances where he’s given from our personal money to help these people but I doubt I know all of them.

And he knows some of what I’ve pitched in for work or youth group or whatever but, again, I’m sure he doesn’t know all of it.

We’re just finishing up Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University so we’ll be keeping closer tabs, but it’s going to take some real work to get where we document everything to each other.

So even though the headlines make it seem like a terrible thing for Cain to have helped this gal without his wife knowing, I can say as a pastor’s wife that it happens all the time and doesn’t necessarily mean a thing, although it could also mean something. And my situation is where our finances are tight. I can imagine it would be even more likely to happen where a pastor has plenty of money, like the Cains do.

How much money are we talking about here? How many men of Cain’s means discuss that monetary amount with their wives before spending that amount? We don’t know, and those details make a big difference.

What I can see - just based on the “article” that Drudge has as his banner right now - is that somebody is trying to get rid of Cain. The “article” was basically commentary saying that Cain should give up. I’d like to see where Cain “acknowledged” that his fundraising dried up when the allegations first came out. He was bringing in millions when the first allegations came out. And his public statements have been that he is in it to win, and that he has gotten a LOT of positive support since the latest allegations as well. They make it sound like he’s still deciding, when he has said he’s already decided. So that “article” seems like a hit piece to me, and it’s making me angry.

The date on the source article is November 2, 2011. Why change the date and post it in breaking news?

The info about an anonymous friend of someone in the Cain campaign making the claim about Curt Anderson is old news, even older than Nov 2nd. The same anonymous source pointing a finger of suspicion in Emmanuel’s direction is also old news.

I think Cain’s got enough troubles at the moment without trying to stir up the anger of Perry supporters (again) as though this is a new story.

If the information is even partially true there is no lawyer that can help Cain.

And as for Cain's political chances, they were never really there. His knowledge and grasp of current political issues, the role of CinC and the Constitution all conspired to bring Cain down.

So there's your conspiracy.

It wasn't bimbo eruptions. There are very, very few folks who gave those credence...or even cared if they were true. Americans are generally desensitized to those sorts of revelations and attacks.

Cain simply didn't understand, or could not well articulate opinion on the Matters of the Nation.

9-9-9 was plain silly. No opinion on many of US National Security interests. Thinks the states should all have their own immigration policies/laws.

He was simply very likable and well intentioned.

Axelrod and his family are dyed in the wool communists, especially his mother. I wouldn’t discard the allegation that the families roots include the Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky. More intriguing to me is the reporting of a Fresno man that during a business dinner in Moscow in the 1990s the hostess, a strong communist, spilled the beans that there was a black man with Kenyan father and white mother who was already being groomed for POTUSA and his name was Barrack. That foreign elements/persons were factors/influence in USA government goes back to the days of Wilson who with European banking interests created the Fed Reserve. Even in the days of Eisenhower when communists were set on burying this Nation a la Kruchev the notion that these foreign agents were here was being dismissed and McCarthy was pillaged even by Ike. I have suspicion that the people in Moscow were in touch with people in the USA,very possibly a Chicago-Axelrod connection. Chicago and its sinister politics resulted in Obama being POTUSA.

Do you think the amount of communication going on between the two was correct and proper? Normal?

excerpt-
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the records show extensive and repeated communication between Cain and White. White texted Cain 70 times just in weeks between October 22 and November 18, at all hours of the night. Cain reportedly texted White 17 times, mostly in response to her messages.

Having been present nearly a decade longer than you, and having been present for the pre-religion forum era, the birth of the religion forum, and its development over the years, I can safely say that my comment is not restricted to the religion forum.

It addresses those who would “bear false witness against” Herman Cain. They’re in big trouble with God.

Hope to see you in the religion forum some day. (Incidentally, you can also make political comments there...it’s a two-way street.)

I have rooted for Herman Cain from the start. But when I think about it, Herman had to be smarter than this to appear to be paying off what seems to be a blackmailer. Didn't David Letterman invited the feds to help him in a similar situation? So many facts are unknown.

The damage is done.

I still support Herman but the objective of every red white and blue voter is the removal of the current Obamination. I believe this to be the focus and objective of every educated voter. However, the Obama mainstream media is working overtime to corral the Nations Sheep into accepting a weaker opponent to Obama. The same exact tactic was used by the leftist media that corralled the Sheep to support McCain as being the Nations choice for the Republican candidate for presidency in 2008.

The fix is in. The Republican candidate of choice is who ever the Leftist Mainstream media will allow the public to be exposed to. All others will be ignored, laughed at, or destroyed.

Everyone one of you who can't see whats happening are tools for Obama and the leftist mainstream media.

"Stupid people are ruining America" - Herman Cain
