Glenn Beck Smears Ron Paul With Half-Truths About Paul's Earmarks.
Today on his radio show Glenn Beck and his staff declared that Ron Paul is the "earmark king", and labeled Paul a hypocrit. Beck correctly stated that Paul adds many earmarks to spending bills, and then votes against the spending bills. What Beck left out (either by deceit or by ignorance) is that earmarks do not increase the size of a budget. The money allocated for a budget is set by the Appropriations Committee prior to any allocation or earmark. All money not allocated or earmarked is not deleted from the budget, but rather is turned over the the executive branch to spend as it sees fit.
According to Wikipedia [re. Earmark], "Scott Frisch and Sean Kelly point out that directing money to particular purposes is a core constitutional function of Congress. If Congress does not make a specific allocation, the task falls to the executive branch; there is no guarantee that the allocation made by executive agencies will be superior to Congress's. Presidents and executive officials can use the allocation of spending to reward friends and punish enemies." They also warned the "Tea Party's Anti-Earmark Crusade Gives More Power to President Obama".
Those are important points. Unallocated money has no transparency, and therefore can be used by the President to reward friends and punish enemies, without public scrutiny. Therefore, by earmarking as much as he can, Ron Paul is increasing the transparency of government spending. Until the Congress passes a law that requires all unallocated money to be deleted from the budget and returned to the Treasury, Congressman Paul is doing all he can do to increase the transparency of federal expenditures.
Glenn Beck is constantly preaching to us about the importance of (honorable) character. Maybe Beck should practice what he preaches.
>>>A troll is someone who stirs up trouble on a forum<<<
Do you mean someone who labels Freepers who support Ron Paul as “Paultards”? I agree. They are trolls.
>>>Everybody is lying, only RuPaul knows the truth...... Lame, Philip, lame.<<<
I’ll bite. Tell us the lies of Ron Paul.
>>>Everybody is lying, only RuPaul knows the truth<<<
I believe you admitted in a previous post that you were being deceitful about Ron Paul’s earmarks in that you failed to put his earmark activities in proper context.
What is your definition of a liar?
McGruff, did you even bother to read my original post? I think not.
>>>I missed that part in the constitution that advocated Congressional earmarking.<<<
I guess you also missed the part in the constitution that allowed the President to spend as he damn well pleases all budgeted money that is not allocated and/or earmarked.
Come on, “Optimist”, get educated.
>>>So now you are a pot smoking Libertarian. Swell.<<<
Thanks for the smear, pinhead.
Dude. Put down the bong. It has been many days since I posted that reply. Sober up and get back to me. Time doesn’t stand still for the rest of us.
>>>The financial support (of NuBlac) coming from taxpayers..thanks to Ron Paul<<<
Not true. The financial support comes from the CORRUPT CONGRESSIONAL BUDGETING PROCESS that set a FIXED (read again, “FIXED”) amount of taxpayers dollars to be spent THAT CANNOT BE REDUCED. Therefore, the un-allocated money goes to the President (e.g., to Obama) to spend as he damn well pleases, or it is targeted (earmarked) to congressional districts.
Bushpilot, would you rather Obama spend the excess money? Be honest?
>>>Dude. Put down the bong. <<<
What’s a bong?
You are one sick puppy. God bless.
You Sir are out of your mind. It is Saturday night and you are rehashing old arguments. Get a hobby.

All money not allocated or earmarked is not deleted from the budget, but rather is turned over the the executive branch to spend as it sees fit.I know, lets vote to pass a budget where $1.5 trillion is appropriated for green cheese on the moon's back-side.
Yep! That's what I was thinkin' too: great idea!
>>>I know, lets vote to pass a budget where $1.5 trillion is appropriated for green cheese on the moon’s back-side.<<<
raygun, I have tried to show respect to you in the past, as best as I could. But this post is beyond comprehensible. Please explain.
“What is your definition of a liar?”
An individual that tells a falsehood, like “Ron Paul is NOT antisemite piece of garbage.” or “Ron Paul is a Conservtive.”
That would be my definition of what a liar is.
