Herman CainÂs chief of staff Mark Block confirmed to ABC News that the candidate told his senior staff this morning that he is reassessing whether he should stay in the race, as reported by the National Review. Cain told his staff in a conference call that heÂll make his final decision Âover the next several days. Cain has been dogged by reports of sexual harassment in recent weeks. On Monday, a Georgia woman said she had a 13-year long affair with the former chief executive of GodfatherÂs Pizza. Cain denied the affair, saying that he knew the woman but did not have an extramarital affair. Two other women have publicly accused Cain of sexual harassment when he was head of the National Restaurant Association in the late 1990â²s.

I just took my Yard sign in. It is a sad day, when in Amerika we can have someone destroyed and their lives ruined for running for president. We need a revolution. Get all the scum out of Washington and start from Scratch. I hope if Obama is reelected 2012 Mayan crap happens because Obama is going to destroy us all by himself. At least if the 2012 thing happens we will know we died from gods hands and not the O’s hand... :(

The open borders Perry crowd are out back, beating on a Herman Cain Pinata.
Hate to tell ya, Cain is done, DOA, hit by a bimbo Buick...
An adviser to Cain said the former businessman told staff he will spend the next two days assessing his candidacy, and that he would base his decision on two factors. One, whether or not he still has enough support to go on, and two, the toll it is taking on his family."
Where is your evidence for this? Several mainstream polls either show him either beating Obama or more competitive than most of the other GOP candidates. If you have evidence to the contrary, I’d love to see it. BTW, opposing Obama’s attempt to be global cop in these hard financial times, is not “loony.” From a purely strategical standpoint,it a far more winning strategy than reflexive defense of the Pentagon’s bloated budget.
BTW, four years ago, many on this board called Paul a “loony” because of his critique of the Fed.
In this morning's emailed news:And as ABC News reports, Ginger White might be every bit as credible as Sharon Bialek:
"Like one of his earlier accusers, the latest woman to accuse Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain of sexual misconduct has a history of financial trouble, with a threat of eviction for non-payment of rent just two weeks ago. Ginger White, who claimed in an interview with Atlanta Fox News affiliate WAGA to have had a 13-year-affair with Cain, has liens and civil judgments in Kentucky and Georgia dating back to 1994. Eleven of those liens have been filed since 2009, with nine in 2011. The owners of her apartment complex in Dunwoody, Georgia have sued her for non-payment of rent nearly every month since the beginning of the year... While living in Louisville, Kentucky, she worked at Recruitment Plus, LLC. According to WAGA, she filed a sex harassment claim against an employer ten years ago, and the case was settled. The station also found a bankruptcy filing from the late 1980s. In January, there is a scheduled court date in an unrelated civil suit filed against her by a former business partner, Kimberly Vay, who alleges that White stalked and harassed her and had sought a protective order. A judge has entered a default judgment in Vay's favor."
Ain’t that the truth. Any ill words spoken about Palin will get you banned from FR, about the same for Herman.
I wish people here would be a little less zealous and a little more pragmatic.
Of all the candidates running, I can’t think of one that currently excites me. Romney has no core, Newt did global warming commercials with Pelosi and education commercials with poverty pimp Sharpton. Bachmann is a loose cannon, Cain has this ‘woman’ problem. Santorum is a religious right one trick pony, and Perry couldn’t win a debate against a corpse. Ron Paul is great on some things (Fed Res, etc) but out in left field on foreign policy. Who did I miss?
I am not referring to that article, I am referring to the Daily Caller article you posted and you know it.
As to the article you posted - how about let’s read the REST of it:
Cains spokesman, JD Gordon, said the reassessment is about campaign strategy, not about whether to stay in the race.
We are full speed ahead, Gordon told ABC News. People are reading way too much into this.
Steve Grubbs: Our marching orders are to keep building our ground game in Iowa and prepare to storm the gates January 3rd, he said.
For now, Cain will keep his campaign schedule, which includes a speech tonight at Hillsdale College in Michigan and appearances in Ohio tomorrow. He did, however, reportedly cancel a dinner with media elites in New York.
Cains deputy campaign manager, Linda Hansen, told ABC News that on the conference call Tuesday morning, Mr. Cain told staff simply that, just as every time significant events occur, a reassessment is prudent.
_______
Their stories coincide with Lolly Winne’s account I posted above.
It sounds to me like Mark Block was either misquoted or got his wires crossed. If he did, I hope they fire his backside.
I agree on Mark Block, he certainly has not been the type of chief of staff Cain needs.
And here is the REST OF THE STORY on the Daily Caller article you posted:
____________
Just hours after his campaign became embroiled in yet another sex scandal, Herman Cain’s beleaguered presidential campaign had more bad news, this time announcing that the candidate has apparently been blackballed from holding events in the small town of Independence, Ohio.
In a statement emailed to reporters this evening, the Cain campaign said it has been forced to cancel a Wednesday campaign event in Independence, a Cleveland suburb, because the city had revoked its venue reservation. The statement, titled “Cain: Cleveland Rocks, but Political Establishment is Tone Deaf,” suggests that the decision was politically motivated.

Shame on you for posting a false rumor that he was quitting.
Same here.
Or it could be a case of speaking out of both sides of the mouth....
Toast
He screwed himself. After the first woman came forward he needed a “I’ve caused pain in my marriage” interview. My guess, and only a guess, is the the difference is that Hillary knew her husband was a cheating fool; Herman’s wife was literally the last to know. And I feel sorry for her. He seemed like a nice enough guy—but by the way folks were dismissing him (the professional consultants from both sides) you got the feeling this was general knowledge behind the scenes.
This is about as hard as hardball politics gets.
I must have missed those
I’m reminded of the Vietnam War. Home support for it really dropped after we “lost” the Tet Offensive.
Actually, I was surprised how early-on the media took that tactic in the war. There is a documentary on Youtube with Cronkite and Chris Wallace about our first battle in Vietnam at the Ia Drang Valley. They showed the coffins getting unloaded and Wallace saying something like “And no one knows how many more of these kids won’t be returning home, and how many more America is willing to lose.” After the FIRST battle! (Where our kill ratio was 1 of ours to 12 of theirs).
These media guys know the script - it is written out ahead of time. And if Cain does bow out - they pull out the script for the next person. They have their goals, and they have their plans.
No it’s not, as long as he stays in.
Just throwing things against the wall hoping something will stick?
LOL
So you hear Texas rumors way up in New York?.....LOL
If you admire John Wayne so very much why not Rick Perry?
No, the rumors are on the internet. And there’s even a woman’s name to go with one of the rumors.
I’m in the theatre; I admire John Wayne as an actor and a classic film star with enormous charisma and beauty. Rick Perry is just another pol to me.
