Ah for the days when Rove was a “magnificent ba$tard” who actually increased GOP numbers in Congress with a GOP president. These days, he’s Satan. ;-)

“The perfect FR candidate had sex only for procreation once a month”

No one here cares how often anyone does it with his wife. No need to insult your fellow FReepers.

Fidelity is a devastatingly important character trait. It is self-control. Repeatedly displaying serious self-control issues, and then going to great lengths to repeatedly lie about it, is NOT what I want in a President.

I am not saying Cain did the above. If he quits, that’s my assumption.

But don’t accuse us of not wanting our pols to enjoy sex with their wives. That is not the issue here.

And I hope my President relies heavily upon his Bible. Further, I know of no FReeper who has advocated total abstinence from alcohol, nor encouraged anyone to go shoot illegals.

>>Not really. Could well be the one area in which Cain was ‘careful’—or she wasn’t sentimental.<<

Then release the texts.
Let us see what they were talking about.

Because we lived through Kwame Kilpatrick here. Let me tell you, anyone can figure out how close two people are by the hints in the texts. Although they ended up with some pretty steamy ones, the early ones were hints and innuendos.

Well I guess I am a coward, because I intend to vote for whoever wins the GOP nomination. I may not like them but I have one thing on my mind, SUPREME COURT. Like the two he chose? Imagine what he could and would choose if he was a lame duck president. It will change this country for a generation if not forever.

—Another FReeper had a post about a book that discussed the idea that most changes throughout history go on a near exponential curve, which are very slight at first and very rapid at the end. —

Was that this, by any chance?

From what i can see, soldierdad, it’s going to be Obozo no matter what i do or don’t do, or anyone else for that matter.

As soon as a candidate is selected, that candidate will be destroyed, and conservatives will eat him/ her. This much i have learned to be true.

I don’t find him not likeable, but I know some in the media say that. Less baggage overall

“Edwards was out of any office before that ever came up, so there is no comparison.”

Edwards was statistically tied in Iowa with Clinton in the summer of 2007 polling and actually took the lead when the story broke in Oct 2007 and continued to lead into December until the story got legs. He ended up getting pummeled in Iowa and became an “also ran” in New Hampshire and SC. Then he dropped out.

I would say it’s an obvious comparison if one is a student of political history.

Anyhow, if Cain leaves the race, I won’t be voting.

Oh yes you will....Obama by default.

Sarah Palin

Herman Cain

Will we EVER see a REAL CONSERVATIVE/OUTSIDER with the guts to trust We the People and stand up to the Forces of Darkness and Evil??????

Probably not. The KGB/Alinsky Inspired Machine has been honed and perfected to the point of being invincible. Weep for the USA lost forever.

And don’t give me flame about how inexperienced in Foreign Policy Cain was. Foreign Policy has had WAAAYYYYY too much attention given to it for far, far too long, at the horrific expense of our Domestic needs.

Some FReepers seem to have a real dislike for the idea of sexual morality.

“The media wins another one.”

I am not willing to blame the media here. They have done us a service, IF it is true.

Having this out before the primaries is way to our advantage. Did you want it out after he was the nominee?

That said, if he’s innocent, that’s another thing.

So did they continue their affair while Cain was fighting terminal cancer?

I just don't get this one. She just doesn't seem reliable to me.

I could believe he had an affair back in the early 90’s, but it's hard to believe that the affair continued till about 8 months ago, especially with this woman.

His wife was at his side during the cancer treatments. That would have been life changing.

I don't know. I'll wait and see how this plays out, but I'm very disappointed that if he is innocent, he is considering dropping out.

I don’t think so. I can easily seeing a man being ‘careful’ in his text messages. (Though are they part of what she has a record of?)

Either way, it is also largely up to Mrs. Cain in terms of his soldiering on. I imagine if Mrs. Cain requested the records this woman has that this woman might oblige.

Sad, really. What this tells me along with his lack of aggressive responses to these sexual allegations is they may very well be true. But that's not the end of it.

Say they were true. Cain's honest and forthright admission along with proof of a repentant heart and a mind/life change might have made a difference. The American people, weary of the current wooden occupier of the WH, welcomed Cain's amiableness and otherwise candid demeanor and may have found it in their hearts to forgive him.

But he's done neither. This not only hints to me that he may very well have done these things but also that may have not yet come fully to grips with this problem in his life.

Uh, Sarah, are you listening? The way I see it, either Sarah or Jesus need to come back pretty soon.

I don’t think so, but I could be wrong. It may be the same author, though. I’m going to see if I can find it, if I do, I’ll get back to you. But, in the meantime, thank you for that link!

Too many conservatives are suckers for the circular firing squad invitations the DNC scum always put out at election time.
