Just like with Carter's handling of Iran the legacy of Obama's foreign policies will reverberate around the world for decades to come.

How long before we are told to wear a turtleneck and turn down the thermostat?

It would be hard to find the article, but I believe Jeff Nyquist predicted this would eventually happen.

And that's it. Afghanistan is land locked and cannot be supplied by sea. Supplies can only reach the armed forces by land or airspace that is controlled by enemies of the west.

Get the troops out now. Fight a drone war.

Pull the troops out of Afghanistan.

End all aid to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Let the Russians deal with them.

If Barry had any balls he’d call their bluff by threatening to walk away and leave a festering Islamist hellhole right on their doorstep (hello, 1980 invasion!)

Problem is Russia doesn’t border Afghanistan. There’s a bunch of “secular Muslim” former Soviet -stan states between them. Though I doubt it would take much for Afghan corruption to spread to the others.

Every since the Russians started fielding their new nuclear ICBM systems, they have gotten real uptight about American having anti-missile systems.

Sheer Co-inkydink I am sure.

Time to refund and ramp up the military obviously. But the present Congress could not think themselves out of a paper bag. Every dollar spent on defense is not a dollar to “appropriate” for “higher purposes”. This is where corruption turns to blood on their hands.

The bigger problem is that Russia knows damn well that NATO wants a missile shield because of the Middle East, not because of Russia. Russian politicians are playing a ridiculous game to see who’s tougher on the West.

Don't tell the Poles and Ukranians that. When Obama declared that we wouldn't cover them with a missile shield in 2009 their headlines screamed "Betrayed Again."

Thanks Pan_Yan.
...it may not let NATO use its territory to supply troops in Afghanistan if the alliance doesn't seriously consider its objections to a U.S.-led missile shield for Europe...
No problem -- we may start using Turkish bases to supply the Chechens and other Muzzie independence movements. Problem solved. Oh, and still build and deploy the missiles shield. Those a-holes had a chance (more than one) to agree to Reagan's proposals in the 1980s, now they'll have to live with the consequences of their own stupidity.

Well, disallowing one to use its territory to supply troops somewhere and starting to supply terrorists are not the things of the same kind.

In fact it is a sovereign right of every nation to decide if they are allowing foreign military transit or not and most nations are disallowing by default which can’t be considered as a hostile act under any law.

Supporting jihadi terrorists is an illegal act in its nature and contradicts all the American interests as well.

The US supported jihadists (not al-Qaeda, or the Taliban, neither of which yet existed) in Afghanistan, fighting these very same Soviets, er, Russians.
