To: I am Richard Brandon

I am 50 years old, an Active LDS (mormon) member all of my life .... and frankly .... I have no idea what you are talking about!

Mormons believing they are going to inherit a planet??? Where did you get ahold of that anti-mormon fantasy?

Show me where that is in the Bible/Book of Mormon! Or where Christ promised that?

Essentially, I believe that you are either incredibly gullible, ignorant, decieved or ... possibly all three at the same time!

Please, for the love of God himself, grow a brain.

Yes teppe, please do.

Of course it isn't in the bom or bible- just look further such as "Gospel Principles" and other mormon teachings.

It is a sad thing when mormons have to actually lie about mormon beliefs in order to try to convince others that it is legit.

Polygamy is adultery and adultery is a sin in Christianity...

Christ would never promise such sin...

and nobody in this thread ever said He did...

Its blasphemy to blame the LORD Jesus Christ for the sinful nature and lusts of Joey Smith..

The Mortmon practice of polygamy is not part of Christianity

The anti-Christian womanizer Joey Smith made it all up in order to get himself lots of young virgin girls...

Current Mormon doctrine d&c 132...

Mormon poster "Teppe" to FR poster "I am Richard Brandon":

I am 50 years old, an Active LDS (mormon) member all of my life .... and frankly .... I have no idea what you are talking about! Mormons believing they are going to inherit a planet??? Where did you get ahold of that anti-mormon fantasy? Show me where that is in the Bible/Book of Mormon! Or where Christ promised that? Essentially, I believe that you are either incredibly gullible, ignorant, decieved or ... possibly all three at the same time! Please, for the love of God himself, grow a brain. [Teppe to "I am Richard Brandon"]

ALL: This is typical Mormon subterfuge. I don't know if Mormon FREEPERS like Ripliancum and Teppe makes them out to simply be ignorant Mormons; or, if it's worse ("lyin' for the Lord")...who knows their level of knowledge or intent?

But let's break this down and get to the truth, shall we?

Just as Ripliancum claimed last month, Teppe says here:

Mormons believing they are going to inherit a planet??? Where did you get ahold of that anti-mormon fantasy? Show me where that is in the Bible/Book of Mormon! Or where Christ promised that? [Teppe]

This was similar to Mormon poster Ripliancum failing to 'fess up over his similar epic failure where, he, too -- like Teppe -- lost all credibility once and for all on FR threads (Oct 23, 2011). Ripliancum claims: "Educate yourself. In my 40 plus years in the LDS church, I've never heard taught that we will all be gods of our own planets. That's a talking point of the evangelical opposition to the Church." [post #10]

Ripliancum made the statement to Livius but didn't publicly apologize to Livius re: his accusation of ignorance. Likewise, my prediction here is that Teppe won't follow up and apologize to "I am Richard Brandon" for his accusations that he is "either incredibly gullible, ignorant, decieved or ... possibly all three at the same time!" -- personally attacking that poster by claiming he was essentially brainless.

I am incredulous that in the face of overwhelming quotes from Mormon leaders over these teachings that such unmitigated shrill tactics of denial coupled with personal attacks even exist, let alone become escalated!

The Questions at hand?
* Have Mormon "prophets" taught that Mormons get their own planets?
* Have these teachings in recent decades been confirmed in official Lds publications?
* And have Mormon "prophets" gone on record as saying that "Living Mormon 'prophets'" trump even written Mormon "scripture?"
[On this one see Ezra Taft Benson's "14 Fundamentals of a Mormon prophet" speech]

The answers to all of these questions is "yes."

Ripliancum and Teppe, as Mormons, may want to throw past Mormon "prophets" under the bus because those Mormon "prophets" put Mormons in a bad light before the world...But they can't take a scrub brush and wipe away what's been taught and republished by this generation of Mormon church officials.

A review of what those leaders taught -- and what the Mormon church has republished in Teppe's adult lifetime:

Lds "prophet" #10

“To become like him we must have ALL the powers of godhood; thus a man and his wife when glorified will have spirit children who eventually will go on an EARTH LIKE THIS ONE WE ARE ON and pass through the same kind of experiences, being subject to mortal conditions, and if faithful, then they also will receive the fullness of exaltation and partake of the same blessings. There is no end to this development; it will go on forever. We will become gods and HAVE JURISDICTION OVER WORLDS, AND THESE WORLDS WILL BE PEOPLED BY OUR OWN OFFSPRING. WE WILL HAVE AN ENDLESS ETERNITY FOR THIS."
Source: Joseph Fielding Smith, 10th "prophet" of the Mormon church, Doctrines of Salvation, 2:48, as cited by The Mormon Church’s annual Melchizedek Priesthood Personal Study Guide, 1978-79, p. 131

Tell us, Teppe, if you are 50 years old, why was your Mormon church dredging up this quote when you were 21 if it was mere "anti-Mormon fantasy?"

The author of a FR thread -- Mormon Professors Confuse Doctrine and Rumor -- noted that Lds scholar was committing the same distortions as what we've seen Teppe and Ripliancum engage in on FReeper threads. (See that link to see where Lds scholar Richard Bushman showed once and for all that he has no "scholarly" credibility remaining)

Hence, Sharon Lindbloom in her "Mormon Coffee" blog from Nov. 14, 2011 took the time to provide additional Lds sources where Mormons have taught that they will have their own planets' teaching...In fact, she shows how Mormon leaders have injected this into their kids' teachings...[I guess Teppe and Ripliancum skipped all those lessons, eh]

From: Mormon Professors Confuse Doctrine and Rumor -- citing the 12th "prophet" of the Mormon church:

...while serving as Prophet and President of the LDS Church, Spencer W. Kimball taught, “Each one of you has it within the realm of his possibility to develop a kingdom over which you will preside as its king and god. You will need to develop yourself and grow in ability and power and worthiness, to GOVERN SUCH A WORLD WITH ALL OF ITS PEOPLE.”<.I> (“’…the Matter of Marriage’” [address delivered at University of Utah Institute of Religion, 22 Oct. 1976], 2). That was then–35 years ago. But this is now: President Kimball’s statement is quoted in three current LDS manuals. The manuals are produced by the Mormon Church for the purpose of teaching children (Chapter 4: Teaching Children: from Four to Eleven Years,” A Parent’s Guide), high schoolers (Doctrine and Covenants and Church History Seminary Teacher Resource Manual – Introduction), and college students (Doctrines of the Gospel Student Manual 430 and 431, 29 [Chapter 10]).

Lindbloom also cited the 5th "prophet" of the Mormon church as having taught this:

Shortly before his death in 1901, fifth LDS Prophet and President Lorenzo Snow watched kindergarten children forming clay into spheres. President Snow turned to his companion and observed, “…these children are now at play, making mud worlds, the time will come when some of these boys, through their faithfulness to the gospel, will progress and develop in knowledge, intelligence and power, in future eternities, until they shall be able to go out into space where there is unorganized matter and call together the necessary elements, and through their knowledge of and control over the laws and powers of nature, to organize matter into worlds on which their posterity may dwell, and over which they shall rule as gods.’”(Improvement Era, June 1919, 658–59)

There it is on record. Teppe and Ripliancum have apparently tossed their 5th, 10th, and 12th "prophets" under the bus...Why? Teppe, was it only so that you could rev it up and unfairly engage in personal, hateful attacks upon other FREEPERS?

Shame on you Lds FREEPERS for not holding these Mormon posters accountable!

Their lack of adherence to historical truth brings into question their own intellectual integrity. Their scoldings of non-Mormon posters is quite shame-filled. And this behavior not being challenged by fellow Mormons shows they sanction it to some degree.

Show me where that is in the Bible/Book of Mormon!

What about the REST of your 'scriptures'?

Surely you can't THROW AWAY all of the TEACHINGS made by MORMON leaders of the past, can you?
