Over the past several months, the NAACP has launched a campaign against the Confederate Battle Flag by protesting its presence at the South Carolina statehouse. Governor Nikki Haley did not respond to the demands of the NAACP to remove it. In a similar matter, black protesters have called for the removal of the Battle Flag from a Georgian cemetery that happens to have interred the bones of Confederate soldiers. And now, most recently, Republican presidential candidate Governor Rick Perry of Texas has become the newest target of the NAACP over whether the Battle Flag should appear on license plates. In the end, Perry decided against the idea.

This yankee has never had any issues with it.
Good Lord, it’s the battle flag not the CSA flag. What is it with these people?
The race baiting NAALCP can kiss my southern butt.
Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving!
Facts, we don’t need no stinking facts. It is offensive. It is racist. It is... well, something to protest about.
Opponents better stop stirring the hornets nest.
Deo vindice
Maybe they should fly the Bonnie Blue flag. These leftists were all educated in publick skools, so they wouldn't have any notion what it was.
The leftists wouldn’t recognize the song either.
Funny thing is that the American flag we all know wasn’t standardized till well after the civil war anyway. As far as battle flags go, virtually every little town that supplied soldiers had their own flag, both north and south.

You’re right. The official Confederate flag bore no resemblance to the battle flag but the “offended” don’t have to be right...just loud. It’s part of our (Southerners) history and the blood that was shed for a cause the South believed in makes BOTH flags revelent in OUR history. BTW, I’m not a racist just a proud Southerner.
You ain’t just whistlin’ Dixie with that flag......that’s my favorite! :).....oh Lord, now I’ll be humming the tune all day. LOL
EXCELLENT column!
I have flown both the Bonnie Blue and the first Confederate National flag in front of my house and no one around knew what they were.
The 1st amend means nothing to the leftist aka progressives!
...After General Robert E. Lees surrender, President Abraham Lincoln said: Now Let the Band Play Dixie; it belongs neither to the South, nor to the North but to us all.
Most of them wouldn't know the CSA flag if they saw it.
This one has. Stick the thing in a museum if you want. It’s not a ‘’racist’’ thing with me. More people were enslaved under the Stars and Stripes than the Stars and Bars. To be it represents the emblem of secessionist treason. And Happy Thanksgiving to all you Americans, Yankess and Rebs.
Nah, that whole 1st Amendment thing is only for causes they support. When it is something they disagree with, so-called "liberals" and "progressives" are anything but tolerant. The hypocrisy would be funny if they weren't so serious about it.
