My family’s income has dropped by 40% in the last seven years because of the explosion of illegal labor in our industry. We’re now at the point where we either employ illegals like the rest of our unscrupulous competitors, or we get out of the business. We’re going to go bankrupt if we continue to play by the rules.
Last night Newt should have tried to explain that studies show only about 20% of the illegals will step out of the shadows to try to claim amnesty. From that 20% you can identify the “few” who will be allowed to stay based on 20 or so years of productive life in the states. Then enforcement can be used to encourage the rest to self deport.
Tired old red herring. Very few are suggesting this.
How about we just stop subsidizing them with taxpayer provided benefits? How many do you think would stick around then?
We start by eliminating the government freebies and ready access to jobs for illegals. Take away their automatic survival mechanisms, and the flow will drop to barely a trickle.
In fact, if the states and the feds did just that, policing the border would be a piece of cake.
It figures. Newt is WRONG FOR AMERICA.
