Nope. Staying home.
Actually, smart Americans aren’t blowing money as fast as they can these days. There’s nothing patriotic about debt.
I NEVER shop on black Friday anyway.
Where I live, this Saturday is small business’ shopping day. I do at least 75% of my shopping with local merchants.
Personally I think a crappy economy has the silver lining of rolling the clock back to a more traditional Christmas.
Actually, I normally stay in for Black Friday. However, my girls would get the biggest kick out of seeing Occupiers at Walmart. I plan on driving by to see if they are there.
Anyone know where I can get liquid skunk scent? I already have the water balloons.
Iowa vs. Nebraska
Go Hawks!
Most of what OWS does hurts the average American. Now they want to default on student loans. All that’s going to do is make the “Evil Corporations” say, “Well screw it, I’m not loaning money to the poor anymore for college if they aren’t going to pay it back.” Nothing like climbing the ladder and then kicking it away so no one else can climb up after them.
I will not spend a dime from tomorrow until about January 10th of next year.
Same, I shop online for pretty much everything.
Now if the plan is to go out and do some battle with the occutards I'd get off the couch and join in.
Someone please tell me this Is a parody post???
Wow! Maybe you have missed the recent economic collapse. Who in their right mind would go out and spend money just to be anti-OWS... surely you jest!
I’m sure that you probably meant this with good intentions, but you really need to remember that almost of all America is suffering during this downturn. That means that almost everybody is going to stay home.
The few that do go out and have excess money to spend - well, they will have to hold up the economy.
Every year, someone gets trampled to death. Maybe it will be the OWS this year.
I went out on “Black Friday” once about 7 or 8 years ago. Now, I just watch the idiots trample each other on TV. Of course, this year, I’ve decided to work on Friday instead.

That’s a great idea in your community. Our town had an ‘open house’ a few days ago for the local stores. My instrumental group provided some of the music for entertainment while peeps shopped.
Really, really bad idea for me. I just can’t force myself. Plus, the Iron Bowl is being played in this town and it will be really crazy.

I disagree.
I was once engaged to a girl who thought it was a virtue to buy something she “needed” as soon as she “needed” it.
When she ran out of real money, she’d start in on the credit cards. And, the economy wasn’t even bad at the time.
By the time we were no longer engaged, she’d single-handedly run up about $15,000 worth of debt, in just over a year and a half.
I think lots of people won’t let their kids miss “Christmas”, debt be damned.
Maybe if we’re lucky they’ll get trampled at Wal Mart...
Ah yes... Women are different! (Sorry, but that is true when it comes to spending)... As long as they feel some comfort with their status (married or comfortable single), they will spend. Not so for men. So yes, it may be a merry Black Friday for women but not so for men. I would guess the the end result will be a wash. No increase but no falter in sales results. That alone would be good for the current economy.
Wow, TeaPartyNation is a “social networking site.” That leaves me out.
