Several times, Newt explained that he was strongly in favor of deportation. He gave exceptions for otherwise law-abiding citizens who have long since established family roots here.
Nobody else on stage mentioned actual deportation but Michelle Bachmann.

I would LOVE to send a bunch of them back. I am a minority in my American town. It’s not pleasant. I can’t speak Spanish so I feel like a foreigner being left out of the conversation. You have to live here to understand....

Newt blew it on the illegal immigration thing. Like Herman Cain said, let's enforce the current laws, secure the border and allow the states to take up any slack left by the Fed-gov. Otherwise, these conversations are moot and 300 illegals just crossed the border while I was typing.
Secondly, if, instantly, we had 10 million "legal" immigrants, we would have a situation that Israel had with so-called refugees only multiplied by a hundred. Talk about foreign agitation on a national level. Think la raza the size of godzilla.

Bust the big businesses that hire illegal aliens, like Tyson Foods, Cargill, and Swiftco, cut the welfare to illegal aliens, and shut down the Mexican Consulates, and most of them will leave on their own.

I believe the issue around running all illegals out of the country is mute and a waste of breath. Certainly it will not happen until the borders are secure, FIRST. By the time the border is secure perhaps a Republican will have deported the dangerous illegals and a conversation can begin on the working families who remain undocumented as what can be done.
