Sarah Palin's announcement that she wouldn't run for president disappointed her legions of admirers but it infuriated Roger Ailes. The Fox News chief wasn't angry about the decision itself. Rather, he was livid that Palin made the October 5 announcement on Mark Levin's conservative talk-radio program, robbing Fox News of an exclusive and a possible ratings bonanza. Fox was relegated to getting a follow-up interview with Palin on Greta Van Susteren's 10 p.m. show, after the news of Palin's decision had been drowned out by Steve Jobs's death. Ailes was so mad, he considered pulling her off the air entirely until her $1 million annual contract expires in 2013.
After the announcement, he called Fox's executive vice-president Bill Shine into a meeting. Shine is the network's principal point of contact with Palin. Ailes told him she had made a big mistake. "I paid her for two years to make this announcement on my network," Ailes pointedly told Shine. Sources described the episode on condition of anonymity, given the sensitivity of the relationships.
Palin is said to have made her announcement on Levin's show because she's been upset that Fox News has given a platform to Karl Rove, one of her principal critics. "She isn't happy with Karl," one Palin adviser told me. "From day one, he hasn't been very nice." Levin had become Palin's biggest booster in the conservative commentariat, and Palin is known for rewarding loyalists, and punishing her detractors.

Roger Ailes is out for Roger Ailes and certainly he doesn't give one twit about Sarah Palin or her conservative beliefs or principles. Ailes is ratings driven and that was all this was about, ratings for his employer.
Coming from YOU?
You're normally more gruntled than that.
Cheers!
Thanks for all the work you do. You know, you have changed things in America for the better. Feels good to be used by God doesn’t it!
Blessings...
Simply yet so eloquently stated.
Consider yourself highly commended!
(What happened to your "What'd I say?" tagline??)
Cheers!
Rove is the source to NY Mag (uberliberal rag).
Let’s see here, my boss pays me a cool million to comment on various shows on his network. He also pays the Raving Rover and Krauthead and O’Reilly Auto Parts to criticize me or belittle me right and left. Uh, I think I will give loyalty to my friends that compliment and support me in the absence of some written requirement that I tell my future to my employer first.
You see, loyalty is a two way street.
Sarah is the real deal, someone that average patriotic Americans without emotional crutch baggage can relate to. Rove is part of an efficiency machine serving a static prime mover of self-eating importance, i. e. Republican party rather than conservative values. Krauthammer is also of the same lot.

“we can expect a weekly show with Sarah and Rove..Crossfire redux...it would be a ratings smash...but what could we call it?”

“BEAUTY AND THE BEAST”

Sure wish Beck and Rush would combine their money and form one on TV
The DC way is to be in bed with whatever media allies it takes. If a person is going to fight that status quo, they’re going to have to crack a LOT of eggs to do it. The whole schmoozing thing is with allies, and the reasons given for doing it is because you get more flies with sugar than with vinegar, blah blah, etc. The whole thing is incestuous, and I’m glad for anybody who truly understands that.
Fox is not conservative. I believe Roger Ailes was told that if he didn’t let Obama win by avoiding the eligibility issue, Soros and his communist-Islamist allies would make another run on the bank. Since then Ailes has been doing whatever his master tells him to do - while exploiting the position of trust he had with people who mistakenly thought that Fox was conservative.
It’s the same thing that Saddam Hussein did with CNN. He needed credibility; CNN needed a scoop. So they slept together and everybody got what they wanted. The thousands of people dead as a result were just a minor, unfortunate tragedy. Like the death of this nation is, to Ailes, just a minor, unfortunate tragedy.
If this nation has any hope of survival it will be the people against the media, government, (much) law enforcement, academia, and courts. The people are the only ones who aren’t part of the ruling cabal that has put this country in lawless darkness.
Glenn Beck has the right idea. Andrew Breitbart has the right idea. We need to support them in their efforts.
I actually thought Fox News was different at first but the doubts kept increasing until it dawned on me! Fox is just a “foil”, they put up a pretense of being conservative at first to lure the viewers and then slowly drifted leftward. This gives the other channels like MSNBC which is only watched by idiots an “enemy” they can point to as being “arch conservatives”. I simply don’t watch any of them any longer, they are all full of left wing crap.
This made me laugh. Roger must have spent all night thinking that line up.
This hearsay doesn't strike me as legit; Rove was there long before Palin was hired, and she already well knew his proclivities for Mittens.
If I were Palin, I'd have gone on Fox instead, and used the first four minutes of the five-minute announcement to craft not-entirely-subtle digs at Rove, Ailes and Mittens.
I wanna bite the hand that feeds me/
I wanna bite that hand so badly/
I wanna make them wish/
They'd never signed me
“A Palin adviser told me that she is planning to make an endorsement for a candidate in 2012. Palin, being Palin, is keeping it tightly held. “I have an idea of who it is,” the adviser said, “but I’m not telling.”
“Deja vu all over again, only I’m not playing this time.”
As I made a point in another thread, I don’t understand why anyone would concern themselves with who endorses which candidate. I don’t make my decisions based on someones endorsement of a particular candidate. Free thinking people don’t. If that were the case, parents would not make the claim to their children, that is, so and so wants to jump off a bridge........ In the endorsement game I guess we should just jump off that same bridge because so and so did it. Will you or anyone vote for a candidate that Palin endorses even if you don’t like that candidate? What if she endorses Mittens? What if she endorses Santa Clause? If I want to call Ghost Buster’s, that is who I will call, no matter who suggests or endorses otherwise. I can’t control the sheeple who follow their leader, but I refuse to be one of the sheeple.
No, pretty much just you. Well, and pissant but he is gone to the dark gloomy recesses of the www.
I'm sure you can find him and the rest of your ilk when you disolve off of Free Republic.
BTW, you described yourself quite well in the quote above.
