University police tore down tents at UC Davis yesterday afternoon, arresting 8 students in the process, Xeni Jardin of Boing Boing reports. At one point, to clear a path to reach students that they had already arrested, they pepper-sprayed a line of seated, quiet protesters. This video, which shows the pepper-spraying, is going viral. This comment, from venture capitalist Chris Sacca, sums up what lots of people who watch it are thinking: Seriously. Right now. Stop what you are doing, watch this video, and reflect on what it means to be American.

Actually, that’s not pepper spray he’s spraying at the filthy hippies. It’s worse than that... It’s soapy water.
The point is the cops acting like this is going to give them free license to do it again in the future, against any sort of demonstration... and what if Obama orders them to do the same against the Tea Party?
” He knows protesting kids around the nation that is not for his re-election IS TERRIBLE FOR HIM.”
Do you actually believe this?
Absolutely. The more people are in the streets and screaming over the horrible economy - the more is points out how bad of a failure obama is. He knows people will want calm and order and that he cant deliver it.
No but I’m not a nasty hippie liberal with no life that enjoys defying law enforcement. I find watching this hilarious! Wallpaper? :P
I doubt they are paying. More than likely we are paying or will pay the gubmint loans that will be forgiven.
Remember - these union thugs are not your friend.

Sorry pal, but the ones in my county are almost all “my friends” and I can assure you they have ZERO loves for Hussein, Muslims or liberal hippies.

I live in NYC area - things are probably different here.
I’ll 2nd that.
Didnt you hear - Obama would never ever think about doing that to the tea party!!!
The police state loving types told me so.
None of the above but I like our local leo’s.
Me too, it’s a lot more fun to watch. *snicker*
Oh yea, I’m sure they are. I live in South Florida. Most cops in the Southern states are not like the ones up there.
The cops where I live are nothing but Union thugs, tax vultures, rude, crude, inconsiderate, treat the tax payer like dirt, etc.
This is NY, so I assume Cali is not much different.
That's Obstruction of Justice, not protest.
Tea Parties OBEY the law. We get permits and stay within our permitted area. We clean up after ourselves. Name ONE Tea Party who's member got peppered. YOU CAN'T.
Why? BECAUSE WE RESPECT AND OBEY THE LAW!.
At GOE and later on at all Tea Parties I have attended, the cops were very relaxed with us. I remember at GOE III we were waiting on the sidewalks waiting for the "anti-war" protesters to begin their march (of course they started late...very late). Anywho, I was leaning across a barricade w/ my little American flag waving and an officer came up to me and said "don't do that".
He them told me these marchers would rip the flag from my hand, burn it, stomp on it, etc.....and we all know what would happen if such a thing occurred.
Total RIOT. So many officers came by and chatted w/ us. They said not to take things into our own hands, instead, go get one of them and they will remove the disruptor.
We had one man come into our group w/ his 2-3 year old little girl onto of his shoulders, spouting anti-American crap. Since there was a child involved, we all kept our mouths shut. I went over to a few officers who were on our corner and explained the situation to them.
They came right over and removed this "man" from our presence.
This is NY, so I assume Cali is not much different.
Total lie. I have been to MANY demonstrations in NYC. Remember when Imanutjob was supposed to come and visit Ground Zero. We were there in full force and were committed to NEVER allow that piece of crap on our sacred land.
The officers knew why we were there and knew that we would stop that piece of cr@p from entering sacred ground. They understood. We apologized before hand.....for anything that got out of control and we understood they had their jobs to do. We respected that.
Both sides KNEW what would have happened if this @sshat came to Ground Zero. We understood the police had a job to do and held no ill will towards them.
luckily for @sshat.....(and us), that bastard did not show.
