Police in Reno went house to house in the middle of the night, pounding on doors and telling residents they had to evacuate as a roughly 400-acre blaze raged in rough terrain, destroyed homes and injured some people. At least one man is dead, after suffering a fatal cardiac arrest while evacuating.
Nearly 10,000 people from the edge of the city have been evacuated from the path of the massive wildfire and the local fire chief said the blaze could rage through Saturday.

Caughlin Ranch area of Reno is absolutely beautiful and lined with multi-million dollar homes.
OUCH!
This is COSTLY and UGLY!
Oh my! Prayers up.
It did once.
And everyone fell down.
That horse is dangerous!
[Think we should ping Slings and Martin to this?]
Slings, Martin, I always knew that horse was up to no good.

What an absolutely ignorant statement.
Do you know something about Reno?
Pray for a killing frost.
Your depiction is a little out of date and overstated, at the very least.
I know - the national news channels are avoiding reporting on it, for some reason............
The only news I can get on this fire is on the internet or The Weather Channel. (Even Drudge is not reporting it!)
Isn’t the weather getting wet there? I’m in the NW and it’s raining and cold and usually these big storms also drop some precipitation in the Reno area.
Reno is the largest town near to me, and right now its flaking down snow outside.
When someone told me as a young child that Reno, NV was WEST of Los Angeles, CA, I thought they were kidding me:

Egads! No! We still have Katrina trash living off our tax dollars and dumbing down our schools.
We had a little wetness last weekend...but it dried up so fast because we are high desert. The ‘snow’ we were supposed to get is going to just make a fine dust. Bummer! The winds are still very strong here less than a mile west of the fire ridge. It’s around 42 degrees and sunny....well through the smoke and ashes....
That’s quite a sight.
