The latest Fox News poll shows Newt Gingrich leading the Republican presidential field, edging Mitt Romney. Gingrich now has the support of 23 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, compared with 22 percent for Romney, 15 percent for Herman Cain, 8 percent for Ron Paul, 7 percent for Rick Perry, 6 percent for Michele Bachmann, 3 percent for Jon Huntsman, and 2 percent for Rick Santorum.

Support for Gingrich has almost doubled over the past three weeks. Over that span, Gingrich is up 11 percentage points, Bachmann and Huntsman are up 3 points apiece, Romney is up 2 points, Paul and Santorum are down 1 point apiece, Perry is down 3 points, and Cain is down 9 points. The number of respondents who are either undecided or want someone else has dropped from 17 to 14 percent.

Maybe you should do just alittle reseach before you post. He is not by any means a perfect husband but he’s not the beast you make him out to be either!!
It’s become both the butt of jokes and the reason for criticism that Newt Gingrich informed his first wife that he wanted a divorce while she was in the hospital being treated for cancer. Now, we have a first hand account from one of Gingrich’s daughters that this is untrue:

For years, I have thought about trying to correct the untrue accounts of this hospital visit. After all, I was at the hospital with them, and saw and heard what happened. But I have always hesitated, as it was a private family matter and my mother is a very private person. In addition, for the four people involved, it was one of a million interactions and was not considered a defining event by any of us.

My mother and I have both recently run into quite a few people who hold an inaccurate understanding of this hospital visit. Many think my mother is dead.

So, to correct the record, here is what happened: My mother, Jackie Battley Gingrich, is very much alive, and often spends time with my family. I am lucky to have such a “Miracle Mom,” as I titled her in a column this week.

As for my parents’ divorce, I can remember when they told me.

It was the spring of 1980.

I was 13 years old, and we were about to leave Fairfax, Va., and drive to Carrollton, Ga., for the summer. My parents told my sister and me that they were getting a divorce as our family of four sat around the kitchen table of our ranch home.

Soon afterward, my mom, sister and I got into our light-blue Chevrolet Impala and drove back to Carrollton.

Later that summer, Mom went to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta for surgery to remove a tumor. While she was there, Dad took my sister and me to see her.

It is this visit that has turned into the infamous hospital visit about which many untruths have been told. I won’t repeat them. You can look them up online if you are interested in untruths. But here’s what happened:

My mother and father were already in the process of getting a divorce, which she requested.

Dad took my sister and me to the hospital to see our mother.

She had undergone surgery the day before to remove a tumor.

The tumor was benign.

As with many divorces, it was hard and painful for all involved, but life continued.

According to the 2010 Census the number of Black/African-American citizens in this country is @ 38,929,319, that’s 12.6% of the entire population.
So in your analogy 12% of that of which is of Voting age and not a convicted felon and will actually go to the polls and vote is not worth electing a Black Man to capture said vote. Even if DEAD Black people Vote.

They were getting a divorice, they were not divorced. You could forgive that once, but it didn't happen just once (and I don't care if she was in the hospital, in the grocery store, or where she was, his second wife admitted they were "engaged" before he divorced his first wife. We all know he was sleeping with his THIRD wife before divorcing his SECOND wife.

That is adultry plain and simple. You may think its fine, but most Americans find that reprehensible and won't vote for him. PERIOD. He was out there slamming Clinton for Lewinsky while sleeping with Calista, don't you find that disgusting? Well, maybe you don't think vows to God are very serious, but most Americans do.

Fact is we don’t lose elections because of the black vote, if we did we wouldn’t have won since 1964!!!

Do you have any, ANY posts from VirginiaRidgerunner/TimberRattler where that poster promotes the pluses of his/her/its chosen candidate?

I've got no dog in that fight. What I have is a memory of disappointment in the leadership of Gingrich.

As for who I'd support for President, it's the person who stands for the good of our Nation, not a political party. Someone tuned into liberty not control. Freedom not slavery. Strength not submission to foreign influence. King James and the Constitution. That kind of person.

I agree, so using the argument that Cain will capture some or even all of the Black Vote as a reason to support him in this primary is a pi$$ poor excuse to put him against obummer in the general. Circle jerk logic

I don’t need to grant him forgiveness, that is between him and God. Forgiving him has nothing to do with the fact that you can’t trust a man who is a cheater. This is still America where most of the country finds that reprehensible. Everyone can and probably has forgiven him, but still won’t vote for a man who can’t keep his word to God and his wife. He can’t rewrite history, it is what it is and if the GOP is dumb enough to nominate him it will be the lowest republican turnout in modern history.

that is in the past and between him and his family. His daughter wrote a letter on some of the lies circulating around the msm. Newt asked for forgiveness and said he made mistakes...I am over something from the past. Look..some even say our beloved Ike had an affair with a woman in London. Of course he did stay with Mamie. I like Newt and I believe the other candidates have baggage too whether social or political or both. Watch him on Greta tonight..I am sure she will ask him about this...

From the article:

“Gingrich has the support of 35 percent of Tea Party voters, which equals the tally for Cain (20 percent) and Romney (15 percent) combined.”

From a sample set of 370 registered voters, Fox had to find a sample that would vote for a republican. Lets call it 200 people. Then they had to find a subset of TEA party voters. Lets call it 70 voters. That would mean 35 PEOPLE supported Ginrich, 20 PEOPLE support Cain and 15 PEOPLE support Romney.

This is a very small sample size. The poll is garbage.

The Saudi owners of Fox News clearly are unhappy with Cain’s anti-Islamonazi attitude and will do what they can to push him out.

How could anyone sit out this election? Obama has to go...he has brought this country down..solyndra, obamacare, suing AZ and other states over illegals, fast and furious, sitting in Rev Wrights church for 20 yrs and naming him as his mentor and later denying he knew what that man said? whoever wins the gop nomination will have my support...if obama wins again it is the end for generations to come. He is one arrogant man...refusing the supoenas on solyndra and denying info on fast and furious...my God...that man is the worst president EVER

Everyone can and probably has forgiven him, but still won’t vote for a man who can’t keep his word to God and his wife

Nothing in this sentence is true. Obviously everyone definitly hasn't forgiven him and a lot never will and a lot of people would vote him or he would not be leading in the polls. If it's a deal breaker for you fine...but by these standards Mitt Romney would look pretty good.

I agree that Obama should go. However, I am not going to vote for scum to get rid of scum. You may feel however you like. But, I will not vote for a Romney and put that scum into office JUST TO CONTINUE what is going on up there now!!! If you don't like that, your problem, not mine. I can live with the fact that I have scruples and will not go against them. I am sick and tired of having to vote for Romney, McCain types because that is all I have to vote for. You do as you like and I will do as I like. I know it will not bother my conscience not to vote for scum.

You can’t just listen to what they “say” now. You must check their records and see if the DO what they say. Newt has a strong record to check.

The Dems would love for him to go up against Obama. He basically believes the same things so who would a voter choose? A white, self promoting, rich womanizer...or the “selfless, family man”, Obama?

The MSM and GOP Establishment (including their main mouthpiece, Fox News) have near-total control over which gaffes and/or baggage will be seen, spun, and advanced for however many news cycles suit their agenda.

Their agenda is to ensure that the least conservative candidate must win. The conservative base and the Tea Party must die, once and for all. Romney is their guy. Since Romney can't get above 25% support among likely Republican voters, the only way to carry him across the finish line is for him to be the only man in the race.

If it were true that the candidates have "noone but themselves to blame for their numbers", we'd be hearing a lot in the media about Romney's "I can't have illegals working for me, I'm running for office!" And we'd be hearing a lot more about ObamneyCare and Romney's extensive, documentable history of flip-flops. We heard a lot about that during the '08 primaries when McCrazy was "their" guy.

The GOP Establishment believes that once Romney is the only guy standing, and all his opposition is irreperably damaged, they can throw us a bone by putting someone like Rubio on the ticket and conservatives will be mollified. They're counting on the conservative fear of an Obama second term to drive us to the polls to pull the lever for Romney.

They're wrong. It didn't work with McCrazy/Palin, and it won't work this time either. In the meantime, if you think they intend to allow Gingrich, or any other viable Romney opposition, to threaten his primary victory, you're going to be in for a shock.

To all of these people here falling for Newt, because they think he’s changed, I have a question.

What are you going to do when Romney inevitable starts talking like a Tea Partier, are you going to fall for it?
