...President Obama believes Americans have "been a little lazy" when it comes to growing the economy, creating jobs and being innovative. Now, GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry, who grew up ranching and farming, is out with a new ad refuting Obama's "blame Americans first" philosophy, saying his remarks are "pathetic."

I have a question though, does the POTUS have the authority or power to cut Congress's pay?
No.

We have the ability to throw Congress out and replace them with a citizen Congress. I believe we have started that already. We need a President who understands this.
I didn’t think so, I wasn’t 100% sure though.
Freakin politicians are all alike...say whatever sounds good even when you can’t deliver.
The caption under the ad says, “Too bad Perry is such a lousy debater, because his ad team is brilliant.” Truer words.
If only we could cross-pollinate these candidates and take the best aspects of each one: Perry’s ad team but not his debate stumbles, Cain’s charm and business experience without his knowledge deficits, Newt’s intellect, knowledge, government experience, and debating skills without his history of flip-flops, Sarah’s courage, faith, and ability to inspire without her grating voice, Romney’s hair without his underpants...
I'm really starting to believe that the only way out of this mess is to elect a benevolent, Constitutional dictator.
This is a broad plan and we want a coequal government.
Texas has one and our Congress meets for 140 days every two years and then goes home to live under the laws they passed.
That is the problem with Congress, they end up living in DC and become DC citizens and forget where they came from.
Perry is trying to motivate the country to make bold changes. We the people need to stand up at some point and take back our Representative government.
I saw a post the other day where a guy said, just pull out all the air conditioning and in the summer DC would be empty.
You’re right of course, but WOW!! I love Perry calling “O” a Socialist!
That’s REAL close to home for “O”....
By the way, Perry said the President’s pay should be cut in half too.
Great ad..Perry looks good calling Obama a socialsit.
Great ad! Nice work, Perry campaign.
Congress will never go along with it any more than they will ever allow a flat tax or term limits.
Either of those would cripple their power and I don't think that'll happen in my life time.
In a surprise move today, the seven major Republican candidates for president (who are not named “Mitt Romney”) decided to merge their campaigns, and run as a single corporate “person” they are now calling “Anybody But Romney, Incorporated.”
