Ann Coulter: Picking ‘The Most Right Wing Candidate’ In Primary Is ‘Suicidal’
Breitbart TV ^ | 11-16-11 | Breitbart TV

Posted on 11/16/2011 12:15:03 AM PST by Lazlo in PA

“Those who think ‘oh, absolutely, this is going to be 1980; we are going to run against Jimmy Carter’… and then there are those of us like me and apparently Governor Christie who think this guy is going to be tough to beat... The idea that you pick the most right-wing candidate without any concern over who can win is suicidal..."

"Thank God that moderate Ronald Reagan beat out the uber-conservative Gerald Ford or we would have had four more years of Carter."

Not much irony in that statement when you consider the GOP dumped Reagan in '76 at the convention.

Had he done a better job of convincing his base that Schweiker was 'better than the RINO we don't know' ie Bush I to come, Reagan could have won then and there in '76, and we would not have lost Iran, and thusly may not have needed either Iraqi operation; nor would we have had Bush I, Dole, Clinton, Gore, Bush II, or Obama.

Instead in 1984 you would have had successor candidates to Reagan like Cheney, Rumsfeld, Howard Baker, Bill Bennett, Buchanan, Robertson, Kemp, and unfortunately Bush the Elder running from outside. Schweiker would have never gotten the nom to succeed Reagan, he was not a fraction of the inside player Bush I was.

History wouldn't just be different, it would be better.

The problem with conservatives like you is you never demand anything better! I’m frankly tired of the attitude that we must stick with someone who is a politician of convenience because that is the only way we can win.

Your view guarantees us four more years of Obama. And the webmaster of this site doesn’t want Romney presented as someone acceptable to conservatives.

Be careful or you could find yourself zotted!

Oh and btw, Ann dates libtards. NYC libtards. Almost exclusively.

And if Mittens wins, she may end up in the Administration. Not joking.

Irrespective of who among the current crop each of us supports, when you look at them as a whole don’t you sometimes think ‘is this the best we could come up with?”. We just never seem to come up with an articulate charismatic candidate who doesn’t have lots of baggage.

Frankly, I do not live my life for the approval of others. I am not promoting anyone,; my posts indicate my position as undecided...and I am in an early primary state. I am not a RINO, and in fact worked against RINO Charlie Crist in my state when he embraced Hussein. Lectures and admonitions to me about being non-conservative ignore my past words and actions.

And for the record, I have personally engaged Jim on the electability/ticket question regarding Romney. Search back a bit and you’ll find it.

I’m beginning to think there is “something” going on between her and CC.

Following your example of suicide, the GOP has shot itself about five times in my lifetime.

Ford
GHWB
Dole
GWB
McCain

It’s not suicide, but “battered wife syndrome” from the leftists/progressives controlling the GOP establishment, and Mann is one of their mouthpieces.

Who cares if they are “electable” if they are going to govern like Democrats?

Very true. Few people recall Schweiker, a BIG TIME northeastern liberal Republican, was the man Reagan wanted as his veep. I was reminded of that reading Cheney’s memoir.

It was when we failed to follow Reagan with a conservative.

The Ann Coulter fan club should keep in mind that, regardless of her "conservative firebrand" stage routine, in her real life Ann has dated Bill Maher, far-Left NYC politician Andrew Stein, and other lefties.

Whenever I see Ann these days, I think I can hear that song "I kissed a girl and I liked it".

Probably just me...

...that should never have been reported.

A rather damming statement and one that I thought I'd never see at Free Republic.

Everything a candidate does is open to scrutiny. Whether Mr. Cain knew that the interview was being recorded, or whether he even knew if that recording was going to be made public, really doesn't matter because you're expected to act in a way befitting a candidate for the United States Presidency, regardless if you are talking to one person, or a thousand people. Only the candidate can take responsibility for his behavior.

Wow, to think I one drove two hours and then waited three to hear this woman speak. Now I wouldn 't cross the street to see her.

A couple of thoughts... she has always been shallow. I do remember the accusations of plagarism and her heavy use of Lexis Nexis. Two, I swear someone is blackmailing her.

Now that conservatives want nothing to do with her-who is going to buy her crappy books?

Just why do the “elite” run from Conservatives? My hope is every fly-over, gun-loving, bible-toting Conservative votes...and only for Conservatives at every level down to dog-catcher. Coulter has been infused with east-coast-elitism.

I used to love Ann. Her biting wit, her fearless refusal to “go with the flow”, and her books that exposed the left were a big part of my conservative “education.”

Then she hooked up with GOProud, and started to turn her repartee AGAINST the very people who exalted her to prominence in the first place. She has disappointed me utterly, and doesn’t even LOOK good anymore. I am a straight female, but appreciate good looks, but totally realize that beauty comes from WITHIN.

The 2012 election will be about fiscal issues. Period. The 2010 and 2011 elections were about fiscal issues, or better said, failed fiscal policies pushed into law by Obama and the Dems. In the recent Virginia elections, real conservatives were elected. We have a governor that is an unabashed evangelical-Ann would consider him to be unelectable.

It was Carter’s failure in foreign policy, specifically Iran, that fueled the ire to vote him out. This makes the coming 2012 Presidential election decidedly different.

We don’t live in that world now.

Obama will be repudiated by any of the candidates we put forth. I was for Palin, now I’m for Cain. To me, he is the most conservative. I’ll vote against Obama, no matter who we nominate.

A RINO who advocates ditching conservative candidates needs to be boycotted.

Sadly most people have no real core.

Also, it is hard to be a conservative. Most people just find it is easier to find common ground with the bullies on the left than to stand up to them.

But, Ann has stood up to their bullying ways for years. Why the sudden change? Did she has some kind of true conversion? Did it wear her down? Is she just a core-less attention groveler who looks for a headline any way she can get it? I guess we will never know.

I am just glad I only got suckered into one or two of her books.

Both parties are so drunk for power that all they care about is beating the other. We’ll get Romney who will carry on 85% of the same policies as Obama and the RINOs will claim a great victory for conservatism.

All the Dems and GOP care about is power.
