Gov. Perry was right on target tonight. Great job.
So was Newt.., brilliant ,as always.

Our local station ended the debate after the first hour, and trying to watch it online was torture...the CBS feed was horrible.

The live stream format is definitely not ready for prime time. They sorely underestimated the traffic volume.

p.s. We weren't able to get the nationaljournal site to load at all earlier.

I think you're right... they sorely underestimated the traffic volume and interest in these GOP debates. SeeBS in particular will be stunned to see their online traffic numbers, lol.

The TV part of the debate was great... I would've listen to another couple of hours. Nice to see Major Garrett again...

Is it over?

Mercifully, yes. The Newt/Cain debate was refreshing and you could actually learn something about the candidates.

This one, like the other mass debates, leave me agitated. more so for the fact of the interrupted web stream.

If I encounter Pelly on the street, I may just punch him. He looks like someone who needs to be punched.

Same here. Perry went to his script every time. That’s what it takes for him to keep his foot out of his mouth.

I thought they all did pretty good. Santorum and Huntsman are both annoying though. Perry was strong and really connected. He may have some life.

Did anyone change their mind after watching this debate? are the Perry supporters still for Perry? Cain people still on the train? I do wish Huntsman would drop out and Bachman too.

And he even said he had a system with his order of who got what question.

Strange idea: what if conservatives moderated the republican debates? I’d love to see rush or mark levin moderating.

I thought Perry did more than platitudes tonight; he seems to have regained his confidence. I don’t think anything, however, can resurrect him into a top two candidate. I even found myself agreeing with some conflicting answers among the candidates. Nobody ever seems to think Santorum does well in these debates. He just can’t get above 1-2 percent. I thought that Cain did fine on material of which he has modest experience. Gingrich seemed to be the overall debate winner as he has total mastery of the material and his responses. Still, I expect the media to declare Romney the winner of this debate too.

The winner of the debate was Gingrich, absolutely hands down, and he handed the arrogant Media putz his ass on a platter, when the fool tried to correct Newt about the legality of killing an American Citizen fighting against the United States in a foreign country. Newt was brilliant.

Newt does come off very well in these formats.

I think he'd make an excellent press secretary.

No, I want someone who actually gives a straight answer and doesn’t just ramble and sabre-rattle like Perry or Newt. You have to be an idiot to think Perry in particular did a good job.

Absolutely, positively, hands down......Brilliant!

Sometimes I love Newt, the show he gave us tonight was fantastic.

Especially how he would look down his nose at the See BS Mod while he was making mince meat out of their puny little brains and Titanic egos.

huntsman is getting a lot of airtime tonight...

Absolutely. Far more than you'd expect for a 1%er. I suppose that's because he's Obama's former ambassador to China so foreign policy is "his' issue.

This debate didn't really scratch the surface. Perry was cut off mid answer at the end because of bad clock management by CBS.

Both Romney and Gingrich gave a strong image of being a competent Commander in Chief I would feel comfortable with either of them if it came down to it.

You'd be comfortable with Romney as president? May I remind you that you're posting on FR?
