The latest in the series of televised debates among the candidates for the Republican nomination for President is scheduled for tonight.
The debate is taking place at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., and will focus on national security and foreign policy.
The debate is being hosted by CBS News and the National Jo urnal, and will begin at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on the CBS Television Network.

I love that there isn’t a single debate in which Newt doesn’t serve some media moron’s head on a platter, last one Botoroma, this one Scott Pelley. (No need to check name spellings.)

I knew it was going to be a long night when Pelley gave the Iran question to Cain and Romney, then gave fringe candidate Paul the last word. Obvious set-up.
Then he (or Major) did the same thing with the waterboarding question, giving Paul and Huntsperson the last words.

A lot of the time, yeah. He’s doing much better tonight but he’s STILL way too reminiscent of GWB for my tastes.
You just have to get over the Texas way of speaking.
Yes he did...I was so proud of him explaining the difference between an enemy combatant and criminal law to the moderator. LOL...the moderator attempted to argue but Newt did give him an education
We joked about that in our household. When Perry started to give a different answer, rather than answer the question he was asked and the mod kept trying to steer Perry back to the question, we were laughing and saying “But, I practiced the other answer so I’m going to repeat it no matter what!.” LOL
He smacked that snotty moderator, too!

Have to give them all credit. They were good with most of their responses and seemed more knowledgeable of foreign policy than I would have thought.
At least the mods didn’t ask them some dumb gotcha like who is the Agricultural Minister of Papua.

He wasn’t an “enemy combatant’ but tonight it certainly seemed to me that we had one complete “moderator combatant.” I don’t want to watch Scott Pelley again.

The problem with omitting Perry is that he has the financial stability to hang in there a while,he could theoretically recover.
