Someone please tell me he was speaking figuratively. I don't see in the article that he actually said God told him anything. If God is talking to him, he's a nut and will lose the election handily. I don't blame people in our society for being religious, but actually hearing voices in your head is not a good thing.
Yes, I am a Cain supporter. However, if God is talking to him, I am leaping off the Cain Train...

God talks to his own.
You came to the wrong place if your intention is to attack God’s elect; Freerepublic is owned by a devout Christian, and is a solid Christian site.
We wouldn’t want Cain as president if we didn’t believe that God talks to him. If he doesn’t talk to you, I’m not particularly surprised, looking at your posting.

m-ditt,
the Cain coalition is breaking into 2 factions: (1) those who are glad God talks to him and (2) those who think he must be psycho. Please monitor the situation.
And you need to code peeple like n2w when you are beeing scastic or they get annoyed at me when I am wise guy.
PS pleeze excuse me, now. i need to pray so GOD tells me where to go and campaign for Cain in NH. I hope He sends me to Sullivan County not Cheshire this year. Or maybe He will tell me to stay home and rest my arthritis.

Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair; the rest is in the hands of God.

" If God is talking to him, he's a nut and will lose the election handily. "
Would you rather have him talk to some other spiritual entity ?
God ( the true God, the God of Israel ) does speak in this day and to his people.
I don't get it with some people, they think that if some people talk to GOD and GOD talks back to them, they are some how crazy,,,, no, they are not crazy, they are only crazy to those who bash them and are critical of them.
I rather have Herman Cain talk to GOD and get GOD's wisdom, then Herman Cain getting any kind of wisdom from a man.
The ( FEAR ) of GOD is the ( Beginning ) of WISDOM, not being stupid or crazy....
THE FOOL !! has said in his heart ( there is no God )..
Those who seek GOD and get wisdom from GOD are the most wise people on Earth....
It's the ungodly, and those who do not seek GOD who are the one's who are " Crazy " ....
For God has not given us the spirit of Fear, but, of Love, and of Power, and of a SOUND MIND .

You have a problem with this statement by Cain?
"I prayed and prayed and prayed. I'm a man of faith, I had to do a lot of praying for this one, more praying than I'd ever done before in my life," Cain told a crowd of more than 100 at the Young Republican National Federation, an event hosted by the Georgia Young Republicans at the Westin Peachtree Plaza. "And when I finally realized that it was God saying that this is what I needed to do, I was like Moses: 'You've got the wrong man, Lord. Are you sure?'"

Really? You don’t ‘blame’ people for being religious...gosh,that’s so good to know. I bet you have a few friends who are ‘religious’, too. You, sir or ma’am, are proof positive that Jesus can make the blind see and the deaf hear...yes, even you...hopefully...one day.
FWIW, typically when a ‘religious’ person ‘hears God speak’ they are filled with an unusual sense of peace about the decision they are making...’a peace that surpasses all understanding.’ “Let him who has ears, hear.”

I don't blame people in our society for being religious, but actually hearing voices in your head is not a good thing. The problem is not *hearing* the voices in your head, but knowing which ones to listen to.
cf popular secular phrases such as "a little bird told me" or "I got to start listening to those nagging doubts" or "I knew it in my heart" to the humorous T-shirts "the voices in my head don't like you" and the Christian "I had a leading" or "the still small voice of God".
Or even The Flintstones or Animal House where an angel and a devil appear on opposite shoulders, whispering in either ear.
Cheers!
