Can you honestly tell if you would have done what you think McQ should have done at the time? And make sure you answer that question knowing that in war many of the soldiers can 'fight on' when the first bombs fall while some become instantly shellshocked and can't 'fight on'. Are you sure you are the soldier who would 'fight on' when your mates head is blown off or might you be the one who freezes? Remember, McQueary never had the time to prepare for what he saw when he looked into the shower.

You obviously don't understand just how brave and heroic some people can be typing behind their keyboards....

(safe in their parent's basement?)

You make a good point. McQueary kept his observations in-house until he testified in front of the grand jury. He might not have had time (or access) to meet with the other higher ranking witnesses, to conspire to tell the same version of what really happened.

He probably figured his only option was to tell the truth, and at least avoid a perjury charge. The grand jury thought he was credible.

It sounds like the grand jury believed Curley and Schultz to be less than credible.

Yeah, but I have left a place of employment because I didn't think that the managment did the right thing. Can you say that you have done what you expected McQueary to do?

I am starting to understand. Because you 'left' you have the right to speak on this issue. You didn't fix the situation, you left. But we have no right to speak on this issue because we have actually seen a boy getting raped. Gotcha. It makes complete sense, sort of.

McQueary was a former quarterback and a coach. Freezing is less likely. His father is also a POS for not telling him to call the cops. Career before ethics, the collegiate way.

McQueary's training was in football...he was trained not to freeze in football situations. In no way was ever trained how to act after peering in a shower and seeing a grown man anally assaulting a boy.

Yes, I can say, with 100% certainty what I would have done in that situation.

And to compare it to war is absurd and insulting to anybody who's ever been in a war.

He didn't face a trained, armed enemy soldier trying to kill him. He faced a naked old man with an erection. He should have bashed his effing head in.

It wasn't a sex situation...it was a technical situation...the managment preferred to release a product with fully validating it. They are now paying for that because customer won't buy the product. I felt we could have solved some of the issues before releasing it...so I left and went to a competitor. Their loss..my new company's gain.

I guess it was sort of like ...

Son, we just talked to Joe about this, uh, incident, that occurred late one night in 2002. Something related to Sandusky. Son, can you enlighten us on this? You don’t mind if we take notes, now do ya?

Was fraud involved? Were laws broken? Was it a private company or a public company where it affected shareholders.

Sounds like a it was a business decision and you left because you weren't compatible with their manangement style.

Using your logic, I henceforth declare that you are not qualified to speak on the subject of McQueary and his responses to the situation.

I asked a question of you earlier, you must have missed it (again):

That said, if McQueary is as evil as everyone says, why on earth did he say anything at all? He could have just walked away and ignored the situation and saved himself, and probably the university, a whole lot of trouble.

I think the analogy is appropriate. Seeing Sandusky in the shower with a minor boy had to be a total shock...something he was never prepared for. McQ clearly did not have the wherewithall to act as you feel he should have. He's clearly not the man that you are. Clearly all men who are not the superheroes that you are need to be wiped from the earth so that only a super race reamins.

The fact of the matter is that when different people witness (without any forwarning) what McQueary witness then they will react differently. The fact that McQueary could immediately assess what was going on, and immediately couldn't move in and stop the act is something that many others would do. We can't get rid of all of the people on the planet who don't do everything exactly right, the first time, every time.

McQueary was a 27 year old 6'5" stocky ex-quarterback used to making split-second decisions regarding 300# linemen blitzing at him while trying to deliver the ball to an open player downfield. Are you saying he was not prepared to defend a little boy being raped? GEEZ. This BS is getting older and older.

It's actually really sad that you think a man needs to be some sort of superhero to step in and stop an old man from raping a ten year old boy.

The pussification of this nation runs deep.

Hee hee, it was a private company who was hoping to use the release of the new product to go public...but because of the failure, it never went public and had to go through a Chapter 9 bankruptcy...they have since been bought out by a large German company...I'm waiting for the mangment team to be replaced.

No it wasn't life or death...but I am as qualified to to post about McQueary and the PSU situation as anyone else.

He talked to his Daddy. His Daddy told him to go to Joe and Joe would take care of everything ... and btw, make sure everyone knows you would really like the WR coaching job.

Thank you for seeing the humor and I hope you are also acknowledging that we are as qualified as you are to post about McQueary and the PSU situation.

You didn't answer the question. I didn't ask what he did. I asked why, if he is as evil as everyone says, why on earth did he say anything at all? He could have just walked away and ignored the situation and saved himself, and probably the university, a whole lot of trouble.

Should all men who are pussies be expunged from the face of the earth? Hitler felt so....he wanted master race.

Or should we try to live as a society with people of differing capabilities?

Yup, McQueary couldn't do what we are certain that you should do...maybe we shopuld lock him up with Sanduisky so that folks like you won't be bothered be lesser humans.
