--In the Republican race for the presidential nomination, Newt Gingrichs support continues to slowly grow, and he is now tied with Mitt Romney for second place, while Herman Cain just edges both of them out for the top spot. Both Cain and Romney have lost support since late October.
--But the race could still change; seven in 10 Republican primary voters say it is still too early to say for sure which candidate they will support.
--Cain has lost support among women since late October. Then, he led among women, garnering 28% of their support. Now, his support among women is just 15%. He has also lost ground with conservatives, from 30% to 23% now. And there has been some movement among Tea Party supporters as well; their support for Cain has declined from 32% to 19%. Romney has lost support among men, while Gingrichs support among that group has increased 8 points
The election will turn on the ability of the Republican nominee to make the narrative Obama's record. No one knows this better than Gingrich and no one can do this better than Gingrich. That is why Gingrich demanded the Lincoln Douglas debates from Obama and that is why Gingrich will follow through on his threat to haunt Obama at every appearance and steal the news cycle.
I cite the Lincoln Douglas debates not because I believe Gingrich will succeed in bringing Obama to bay and force him onto the debate stage but because I believe it illustrates Gingrich's understanding of the dynamic of this election and illuminates his power to dominate Obama. John McCain, for example, utterly misunderstood landscape.
I believe all the Republicans will be carrying real or imagined baggage. The question is, can they dominate the process or will they be passive patsies like John McCain? On this issue I think we both agree that Mitt Romney doesn't have the right stuff. The jury is out on Herman Cain because he has made gaffes and he has betrayed a serious weakness and lack of depth on both international and domestic issues.
We have a year for new crises to confront the country and I am of the opinion that we are likely to be buffeted by economic storms and political unrest on our streets. I believe when the crisis comes the country will prefer a Gingrich over Cain because of experience and presence. They will want an experienced commander in chief. When the Black Swan visits, they will want an adult.
The election will be fought with Obama on defense or with our man on defense. If we are back on our heels again we will lose.
I am fond of quoting Bull Halsey in my tagline:
"Attack, repeat, attack!"
Hehe...LOL !
There are some Freepers who do their level best to expose weak/deceptive/counterfeit polling...But those who do things like pimp Zogby's latest fraud...I don't enjoy delivering the margin-of-error beatdowns in those threads...
That's very true, it also looks like a much larger number of undecideds is starting to grow. Some of the support from both Romney and Cain went to no one but the undecided category.
Gingrich is DOA. He has no campaign really established or money to set up caucuses in the early Primary states. Perry is utter history, the other underlings can't hold on much longer either.
Looks like the field is very uncertain for the next several weeks. There is much to shift around in that time. Polling is anybody’s guess.
Learn about Newt before you decide to like him, he is not who he pretends to be, let his record speak:

Democrat Politicians are vexed and astonished that their nasty little ploy didn’t work.
I understand your feelings, but of the two, Newt is the more dangerous:

Newt has been undermining us since his earliest days in congress. Romney is just a gulible fool.
Neither Newt, nor Mitt has anything to fight with Obama about; the three of them have been working for the same thing all their lives.

Or too much national sovereignty...
Or not enough Global Socialism...
Or not enough public land given to the UN...

Will do. The next segment is on at 6 EST. It should be available tonight or tomorrow. It’s amazing.

Unless we have to hear from Mrs. Newt, Newt’ll Do!
The Clockwork Orange motif is a bit scarey.
In all seriousness, Gingrich is the smartest dude running and has a pretty damn good conservative background. Hopeful he has learned to not pull a Perry and stay away from hitlery or nasty peelousi.
That's just it. he has demonstrated the lack of wisdom.
He may be smart enough to be president, but he's certainly not wise enough.
Since the VP may very well become the next president, maybe in 8 years, he's not suitable to be VP either.
We deserve a better, wiser, candidate for both slots.
Who?
Newt is a good debater, no doubt, and he’s very well known. Both things in Newt’s favor.
But there is a long long list of not conservative positions that he’s held.
People like Cain don’t win. They just aren’t famous enough.
People like Newt do win.
Policy wise, Cain is quite acceptable, but Newt just isn’t.
Don’t forget there will be a bunch of people walking into a voting booth and saying “Newt Gingrich, I’ve heard of him”.
Cain's Lead in Iowa Narrows, Gingrich Surges in SC
Over the course of a week, Herman Cain's lead in Iowa shrunk from 15 points to four over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, according to a new Insider Advantage poll of likely Republican caucus-goers in the Hawkeye State.

Also in SC Cain has dropped from 33% on 11/01/11 to 26% in the most recent done 11/08/11.
Well, Gingrich is McCain.
That was intentional on Gingrich’s part.
Cain is Fred Thompson. The conservative friend who will endorse the RINO.
That was the Gingrich / Cain strategy from the beginning.
Gingrich’s strategy was to say something minor, but clearly offensive to conservatives, dive to the bottom, and stop taking any hits. Then, when others go up, then down, he’d be there with no fresh hits on him.
This time around though, we can say “no more McCains”.
Cain.
