Newt is a good debater, no doubt, and he’s very well known. Both things in Newt’s favor.

But there is a long long list of not conservative positions that he’s held.

People like Cain don’t win. They just aren’t famous enough.

People like Newt do win.

Policy wise, Cain is quite acceptable, but Newt just isn’t.

Don’t forget there will be a bunch of people walking into a voting booth and saying “Newt Gingrich, I’ve heard of him”.
