It’ll come down to a three way race: Romney, Gingrich and Cain. History favors Romney. But things could still be shaken up in the coming year.

No but enjoy your moment in the sun. It's a media push poll hoping to push the media spin. Hardly a serious poll. Let see if anyone else's poll matches this.

The survey of 347 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents was conducted Tuesday-Thursday and had a margin of error of plus or minus 5.5 percentage points.

There are a lot of things I like about Newt, but let’s be realistic here. Obama and the vicious Dems with the full support of the corrupt MSM would eat Gingrich alive!

His Medicare “withering on the vine” comment will again be misconstrued and used to scare grandma. Government shut down and other such issues too numerous to even contemplate!

Nice try at spin. However if you bother to read your own story, Gingrich is in 2nd in 1 poll.

Woot! If Perry can’t pull it off I’m sure hoping Gingrich will!

This is not going to result in anything good, if at all.

Nothing wrong with Newt except perhaps...

“Social engineering from the right just as bad”
“for healthcare mandates before he is against it”
“for man made global warming before he is against it”
“Medicare withering on the vine”
“3 marriages all in 1 life time, with some adultery included”

But then Newt was largely responsible for 1994 crushing of democrats. Never mind that republicans got spanked in 1998 and Newt was forced out. Newt is a good debater and knows inner workings of congress.

My conclusion: Newt certainly should have a meaningful position in next republican admin, I just do not trust him in the top position.

I’d pay to watch Newt chew up and spit out Obama in a debate, and he’d do it.

Rah, Rah, Blah, Blah! Newt? Really? Who is going to vote for this guy? Do people want to vote for another gray-haired, baggage-laden, old guy? I don’t. Is this old pol even a conservative? Not that I can tell. /mini-rant

If he shows any big mo, I think the GOP will find Newt a thoroughly acceptable substitute for Romney. There’s something to be said for insiders. The people who can resist you most effectively, won’t resist if they can regard you as one of their own. Gingrich is not exactly a pair of old slippers to them; he can be difficult; but he is familiar and knows how to play with others within the Beltway.
Call me cynical...or anti-idealistic. But I see him having an advantage here.

Gingrich now in Second in Several Polls

OK, let's analyze the situation:

1) Bachmann has said a bunch of stupid stuff.
2) Perry has made a complete idiot out of himself.
3) Romney is the white Obama.
4) Paul is a nutcase.
5) Most people don't know who Santorum is.

Who is left except for Cain and Newt?

What I like about Newt:

*Smart
*Led 1994 Revolution
*Well versed in conservative talking points
*Like Reagan, he has spent his time out of office philosophically thinking and writing about the issues of our time.

What I don’t like about Newt:

*Baggage
*Has seemingly been on many sides of a few issues

The struggle doesn’t always go to the strongest, nor the race to the swiftest .... but, that’s sure as heck where you want to bet your money.

Newt’s the Guy.

AGAIN- Polls need to be scrutinized... However, at the end of the day Romney is Mr. 23%!! What is interesting is that this poll was more broad and may include potential non-primary voter.... YET... Romney is still 23%.
