(CBS) - As the child sex abuse scandal at Penn State continues to unfold, the pain and outrage over Jerry Sandusky and the Penn State football program extend beyond the victims. A sister of one of the victims, herself a junior Penn State, relates her experience on campus, where some students are making light of the situation. The sister says that there are people on campus making jokes about being "Sanduskied."
"I can't escape it," says the sister, whose name was withheld by The Patriot-News. "I've been going to minimal classes, because every class I go to I get sick to my stomach. People are making jokes about it.

Oops. I forgot to mention that the “dish” had been removed from the menu by the time Rush reported it. Maybe there’s a PSU who could confirm?
I've heard too many weird stories about effed-up young athletes over the years not to believe that there is a disturbing story lurking beneath the surface here.
Flame away, folks.
The ice cream dish has been removed and was named “The Blitz” for Sandusky ...
After that, any sympathy I possibly had for him went away.
List of people who knew that Sandusky showered with boys:
This sickens me. JoePa isn’t the only one who ought to have “done more”. I think the mother is the only one who did exactly what she should have.
1998
Mother of Victim 6 - She was very upset about it and reported it to University Police.
Ronald Schreffler (Detective for Unversity Police) - investigated Sandusky after Mother of Victim 6 filed report.
Ray Gricar (Centre County District Attorney) - received report from Schreffler and decided there would be no criminal charges.
Thomas Harmon (Director of campus police) - asked Schreffler to close the investigation.
Ralph Ralston (State College PD Detective) - participated in investigation with Schreffler.
Jerry Lauro (investigator with Penns. Dept. of Public Welfare) - interviewed Sandusky with Schreffler.
2000
James “Jim” Calhoun (janitor) - witnessed Sandusky molesting boy in shower - never filed a report
Unspecified number of other janitors - Calhoun told the rest of his crew what he’d seen.
Ronald Petrosky (janitor) - saw Sandusky and boy leaving locker room and then Calhoun told him what he’d seen.
Jay Witherite (Calhoun’s supervisor) - told Calhoun who to report incident to “if he chose to report it”
2002
Mike McQueary (graduate assistant) - witnessed Sandusky molesting boy in shower.
Mike McQueary’s father - heard account from his son.
Joe Paterno - heard account from McQueary.
Tim Curley (AD) - heard account from Paterno and McQueary - did not inform police.
Gary Schultz (PSU Admin) - heard account from McQueary - knew about 1998 investigation.
Jack Raykovitz (Second Mile Exec. Director) - told by Curley about incident (probably leaving out the molestation).
Graham Spanier (PSU President) - given some details by Curley
The leaders of tomorrow.”
Yeah, I am positive the human race is too stupid to survive. Universities producing zombies.
I think this charity could have been a NAMBLA-type child peddling pedo front group. Which is the newest ‘rumor’ out there.
chessplayer @8: “The school should be bulldozed out of existence and the ground sown with salt.”
I’ll second that. Does anyone call the question?
addendum to the vote - how about we bulldoze ALL of the depraved, immoral marxism teaching state universities in this country?
See #43 - I’m no college ball expert - just noting what I heard from a “usually reliable source”. I did wiki Sandusky and an Alamo Bowl game but there were no references to “blitz” - maybe Lmo56 can elaborate? ;-)
Blitz. Football term where defensive backs are used to attack the quarterback. Was also the name of an ice cream flavor on the Penn State campus named after Sandusky (former defensive coordinator now charged).
Alamo Bowl. In Texas. Penn State played there and one of the victims was allegedly taken to Texas and sexually abused in Texas. Texas DA may press charges in TX.
What was your question?
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Some young people just don’t deal with tragedy very well. One way to deal with it is to make a stupid joke of it. Here is one from my college days in the early eighties:
What kind of wood doesn’t float? Answer: Natalie
I am not excusing it, but this is one way that people deal with things.
This really brings out how infected and sick our school system has become.
Strange, but I had that same exact thought earlier today (raze the entire school and salt the earth where it once stood) after reading about the Sandkusky Blitz ice cream offered by the PSU creamery. Seems what was going on there with the pederasts was an open secret.
This has been covered up for a long time and now the admin is afraid Sandusky might blow the coverup. That being the reason Curley and Schultz were willing to perjure themselves for a guy who no longer worked there. This thing runs very deep at PSU, way beyond the football program.
Penn State Creamery had a dish named after Sandusky, the “Blitz” ...
Now removed from menu:

Agreed and Penn State should not be allowed to play football until people start coming clean with what happened. Their season should end now and the NCAA should ban the program until this case is adjudicated.
I want to know if Sandkusky was pimping kids. Was he keeping records. Was he recruiting football players of a special type and promising them kids as part of an under the table deal? Were any kids threatened or tortured because they were going to talk? Sandkusky probably kept records and had pictures of the kids show he could show them to potential "clients". There are tons of questions to be answered at this point.
If I were a former player with any knowledge I would be coming forward now to see if that info could be helpful in getting to the bottom of this mess in the hopes of saving Penn State (not just the football program).
If I were a student I would be marching into the dean of students demanding my tuition back and telling them I am leaving Penn State for good. That the institution is not what they promised and I would be bringing a law suit to get back all of my money because even though I can transfer my credits I don't know if that will be helpful when I go looking for a job it may be a detriment.
It was a ten-year-old boy. There is no mistaking him for an adult. If I had seen something like that, I would have pounded his face with a cleated shoe until he was thoroughly ventilated, then called the police.
Penn State will be lucky to have a football program when this is done. Now we know why the trustees fired Paterno - imagine reading that. As a trustee - I’d say “he goes - or I go - and I’ll be stopping at the first microphone I see.”
This guy was caught and documented - 5? times? Realize how many peope HAD to know.
In Boy Scouts - we have a specific “never alone with a boy” rule. Its like the one rule we need to learn. Not “never alone in the shower” -never alone - PERIOD.
For a dish to be named "The Blitz" and understood as a clever reference to Sandusky's predilections (by the phallic shape of the serving) I kinda figured there would be a historic game that included "The Blitz" with game winning results.
Like "The Immaculate Reception", "The Play", 2007 Fiesta Bowl - Boise vs Oklahoma (the whole damn game! ), etc. I read the Wiki piece on the Alamo Bowl but saw no blitz references.
So the question is (since you asked): "How can an ice cream dish with an obvious phallic presentation named 'The Blitz' be connected or understood as being in 'honor' of Sandusky' the alleged molester?" Your post suggests that you know. Was Sandusky thought to be a kidnapper as well?
C'mon man - spit it out! ;-)
BTW - Don't miss "The Play" link. Some other youtube links have been yanked for copyright problems. I'd heard about it but never seen it. Incredible end!
