"Governor Rick Perry of Texas suffered one of the worst stumbles in American presidential debate history when he spent nearly a minute trying and failing to remember the name of a government department he had vowed to abolish....

I agree with everything you said.
I feel very badly for Perry & his supporters today. I know it wasn’t the hugest thing in the world (though it’s close today). We’ve all had brain cramps. However, if it’s something you’re truly passionate about, you simply do not forget. It would be like me forgetting my kid’s name. It just wouldn’t happen. It was obvious this was a plan crafted by others, and Perry got lost reciting it. It showed exactly what iontheball said. Perry doesn’t own the statement.
Twice now he’s come across “high” on stage. In NH his meds were too fast. Last night, they slowed him down & made him foggy. Whether or not he needed some medicinal help, we’ll never know. But the US absolutely cannot take a chance on this guy. Not now.
Again, I am very sorry to the Perry supporters. I don’t mean to rub it in. He may be a nice man with some good ideas. But he needs to drop out now. That was more than a gaffe, and it was irrevocable.
HEY! That is sexual harassment!
Or maybe he could do a really stupid thing and write notes on his hand.
Wink!
It’s a good thing you’re around to post every newspaper article in the world about this. I’ll vote for the person who has the best past job performance. If I want to vote for a talker, I’ll vote for Obama.
That sign is Exactly what happened to Perry. Do you remember when your tv stations would show a screen with something not when they were having technical difficulties? After perry’s little problem, The screen should have shown your stumble sign.
Before any of his big gaffes on stage, rush Limbaugh was already noting that perry seemed to run out of steam after an hour on stage. And this was when he was the frontrunner.
I suppose, and I’m not accusing, that there could be some medicinal aid taken at the beginning of a debate that helps with anxiety or something, that does wear off after about an hour. All of his issues seem to start an hour in, where he seems to “fade.”. it could also be natural, that the guy has no stamina.
Which disqualifies him from the presidency. Sorry, perry, but you need stamina and the ability to explain things to the people. You need to be smart and a good talker. There actually is far more talking than doing in that job!
Debate Moderator: Question for you, Former Speaker Gingrich. What's your biology term paper on?
Newt: Juxtabronchial organ secretions in the higher mollusks.
Debate Moderator: And you, Gov. Perry?
Perry: Our Friend the Beaver.
Cheers!
I agree. I said that during the 2nd debate in which he participated. Shield reminded me that Gov Perry recently had back surgery, so he is likely in pain or on meds.
I feel bad for the guy, but I don’t want my pres spazzing out like that.
You are right, any recording machine in a robot could do what Obama does.
