An increasingly large part of me wants Newt as the nominee just so I can watch him debate Obama’s sorry ass and wipe the floor with him.

I watched the show (only because of Newt) and Newt put him in his place a few times.
I know Newt carries some baggage, but I'd prefer him to Cain (no public office experience) or Romney.

If Newt becomes the nominee, look for the media to suddenly find that Debates aren't really necessary after all...

No matter what else you think about him, you gotta love the chip on Gingrich’s shoulder vs the pundits.

Morgan is a Putz and yes Newt can school him all day long.

However, don’t think for a second that the Leftist along with the Main Slime Media will back off Newt. You think it’s bad with Cain... Wait until they attack Newt.

Telling you right now.. Stick with Cain. He is our best chance at the White House. The Left have NOTHING on this guy and it’s why they are attacking his character. The worst thing Republicans and Conservatives can do is cave to the Leftist that are trying to bring down Cain.

None of these guys are going to hold a candle to Newt in any discussion about politics, foreign policy, taxes, welfare, etc., etc.

He would make a great president, but I do fear that he would be conservatively light on some social issues and immigration and the environment. Too willing to compromise on some of those issues.

That’s why I believe he woudl serve much better as a VP to someone like Cain. Would round him out very, very well.

There are times that I love Newt. He’s so intelligent and so cantankerous. I’d like to see him join forces with Cain.

Newt destroys all media types before him. This is a much different Newt than the one I saw fumbling his advantage away in the 1990’s. He knows they are the enemy and he treats them as such.

Why did Newt go into “Brain Science?”

It must have been and editing context thing with the clip. Of all the topics that conservatives are passionate about, having the government involved in another medical solution sounds like spending to me.

There’s nothing more infuriating that being lectured to about American politics by Brits. Whether it is Tina Brown, Piers Morgan, Christopher Hitchens or Andrew Sullivan, none of these people have been in our country long enough to school another American - particularly someone of Newt’s caliber. And I don’t care whether they are citizens or not: they don’t have a “feel” for America.

And exactly why did CNN hire this Brit, with highly questionable ethics, and a judge of female impersonation acts on "America's Got Talent" to take Larry King's old spot?

Were there no former Clinton cabinet members or sexual perverts available?

Presidio9 posted this on FR..it is worth sharing..This statement brings into question your basic understanding of the subject. The Contract With America was sucessful in every way it was intended. It led directly to the “Republican Revolution” in 1994, which gave us both houses for the first time since 1954. It promised only to bring specific legislation to the floor for vote, which it did. Of course not all the legislation passed, for a variety of reasons, the most significant include the fact that some of them were Constitutional Amendments (which would have required a 2/3 majority) and not all of the Republicans actually signed the contract or voted with it.

In the end, it DID produce a balanced budget, and stopped the flow of power to the Executive branch that has gone unchecked since the FDR administration.

Contrary to popular opinion, Gingrich’s fall from glory had nothing to do with extramarital affairs (which weren’t common knowledge in 1997. Actually, this is where Sarah Palin supporters ought to be willing to give the guy a break. He was hit with 84 ethics violations, 83 of which were thrown out. The one that stuck was a tax violantion related to him teaching a class for a not-for profit. He was stuck with a $300,000 bill for the cost of the investigation, but the panel was unable to agree on whether a violation had occured. Three years later, the IRS cleared him, but the damage had been done. The press had been trying to vilify him as a bad guy. They blamed him for the govenrment shutdown. Now he had pilied up accusations of eithics violations. That, and blowback from the Monica Lewinsky scandal was why the Republicans lost the house in 1998.

Since you appear not to be aware of most of this, I question how much you really know about Newt Gingrich’s romantic life. It is true that Newt married his high school geometry teacher, Jackie Battley, when he was 19 and she was 26. Jackie Battley’s version of the story, relished by the liberal media and now (ironically) Cain supporters, that he blind sided her with divorce papers when she was dying of cancer. However, according to their daughter, their daughter, Jackie Gingrich Cushman, it was her mother who requested the divorce, amd it happened prior to the hospital stay (which was for the removal of a benign tumor, not cancer). None of this excuses Gingrich completely, but before you lob criticims at a fellow human being, you should at least know the full details of those criticisms.

What did Morgan mean when he said he didn’t need to teach Newt how to “suck eggs”? Sounds like a huge insult to me and I’m surprized there was no reaction to it.

I agree with Newt 100% on this one. Rather than beating up on other candidates running for the nomination, he will focus on reasons why people should vote for him. The other candidates look like petty fools when they jump on their opponents (ie. Perry in the last debate). It only shows they don’t have anything to offer themselves plus it’s an insult to the voters because it suggests they are too stupid to make a distinction between the candidates themselves.

You know, this is exactly what we need to see in EVERY Republican nominee.

EVERY SINGLE ONE of them.
