IT'S COME TO THIS: Could Sarah Palin Could Get Back In The Race?
Business Insider ^ | November 8, 2011 | Glynnis MacNicol

Things are so bad for the GOP and/or Republicans are so turned off by the idea that Mitt Romney is their only viable option rumors have once again surfaced that Sarah Palin could get back in the race.

Yes.

NYT numbers expert Nate Silver thinks there's a slim chance she could pull it off.

One major constraint is that the filing deadline has already passed in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida. So a candidate who entered now could not get her name on the ballot in those states, although some states, like New Hampshire, allow for write-in votes.

However, the candidate could participate in caucuses, including the Jan. 3 caucus in Iowa and the February caucuses in Maine, Nevada, Colorado and Minnesota, which do not have rigid filing deadlines.

She would also potentially be able to participate in the primaries in Arizona and Michigan on Feb. 28, which are the next primaries following a four-week gap after Florida....

I don’t think Sarah could win but I also don’t think any of the ones running could win. We need someone new.. with no luggage, who would light up the GOP. Who could that person be???? Not Sarah, but it isn’t Cain either. I doubt all of these women were approached but it doesn’t matter at this point.. He is harmed I sent him money and wanted him to be the one but it isn’t panning out.

Oh please.

This is a filthy Presidential election, not a soap opera.

If Sarah Palin couldn't handle the bogus attacks as governor of Alaska, what makes any rational person think she can deal with the high altitude $hit-slinging of a Presidential campaign? She's doing great on the stump. Give it a rest and let her be.

She handled it brilliantly! The world knows it - get caught up, already.

It would make her look indecisive.

I really doubt it. Sarah could easily explain it. She decided not to run the first time because she thought that the conservative banner would be held by Perry or Cain but their campaigns have faltered. Rather than see conservative positions unrepresented in the primaries, she had to get back in for the good of the country.

I don't think that she'll have to get back in. Unless something much more substantive than the allegations heard so far, Cain can probably persevere.

Her name will either be on the ballot or written on the ballot. She raised the bar that no other candidate has reached.

Why didn't you just bump this nearly identical redundant thread?

I am beginning too think the Palin bots like to argue and can't stand missing a day not calling someone deranged because they are.

SP is the ONLY (potential) GOP candidate who has been vetted, vetted again, then re-vetted. She's had the media colonoscopy (please excuse the disturbing imagery) that NONE of the others have.

IF Cain falls, either by the drip-drip of MSM stories OR by his own (so-far) not-ready-for-primetime handling, each of the remaining candidates will be subject to the same procedure BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T BEEN THROUGH THE MEDIA WRINGER that Gov. Palin has.

I also doubt that she'll join the race; but fervently pray that I'm wrong.

Sarah could mount a third-party campaign and win.

Ah, what the hell. Why not? With the way things are going for the GOP, let's have some fun with it.

Palin could run on one Indie ticket, Ron Paul on another, and Trump on yet another. Let's get that GOP vote spread so thinly Obama will even win Idaho by double digits.

That's not what I said, numbnuts.

There is no difference between Romney and Ubama.

There is a lot of difference between them and Sarah.

If Romney is the nominee, we'd be better off with Ubama because he would be gridlocked by a Republican congress.

Myth, on the other hand, would have a green light to implement his Agenda 21 dreams.

Any actual conservative could beat them.

I GET what you said.

Obama HAS the liberal vote. Splitting the GOP vote, regardless of whomever is at the top — EVEN IF IT’S ROMNEY — guarantees a win for Obama.

Accept it. A third-party run isn’t the fix.

That it why I'll be voting for Cain or writing in Palin's name if Cain is forced to drop out.

If Myth is the GOP nominee, I will vote for Ubama.

A President Ubama would be gridlocked by a Republican Congress.

A President Romney would have a green light to implement all his socialist wet dreams.

Plus, on Day One of Ubama's second term we could commence with the investigations and special prosecutors of Ubama's chicanery.

Romney would garner the Liberals who are disenchanted with Ubama.

The Lefty vote is what would be split.

You misunderestimate how far left Massachusetts Myth is.

I think that is where we are headed. The Tea Party is in the process of concluding that they must send the backstabbing GOP the way of the Whigs if they are truly going to turn this country around.

This ain't 1992, and Myth is no Ross Perot.

Myth will split off Lefties from Ubama.

Sarah (or any actual conservative) could mount a third-party coupe that would shake the current political system to the ground.
