About 50 minutes before it was about to begin, PSU administrators canceled Joe Paterno's weekly news conference Tuesday.
Penn State administrators have canceled Joe Paterno's weekly news conference in which he was expected to field questions about a sex abuse scandal involving a former assistant coach.
Paterno's son Scott tells The Associated Press on Tuesday that the decision was made by President Graham Spanier's office.
Scott Paterno says his father was disappointed and was prepared to take questions about the scandal as well as the upcoming game against Nebraska.
Rocked by an alleged child sex abuse scandal, Penn State issued a statement late Monday saying that Paterno will only answer questions about football Tuesday during his regularly scheduled press conference.

I did a little research and from 2000-2004 (26-33) PSU had one winning season (9-4)and a bowl game. At the time they were calling for JoePa’s head because of the losing. I’m sure if this would have come out then he would have been gone. Again people always follow the money.
Sounds to me like he was on the staff as an adviser, and you can bet that Paterno signed off on all of those “amenities.”
Sounds like they were trying to buy him off.
Putting male homosexuals, even though this pervert was married, and boys together is a recipe for sexual predation. This isn’t just pedophilia, but a far more disgusting same-sex pedophilia. The Boy Scouts figured it out long ago. The Catholic Church has suffered greatly and continues to hemorrhage money thanks to infiltration by queers. Now they are in the military. You can lay the success of the movement at the feet of hollywood where homosexual writers portray the deviant behavior as benign, intelligent and all about love. Watch this perv get invited to march in the next “gay” pride parade just as Nambla members did for many years.
Buy him off? Ya think?
Seriously, this is why the whole Penn State football program needs to be eliminated. Nuke it from orbit, just to be sure.
Here's hoping that the men of Delta Tau Chi fraternity use RoundUp® grass killer on the field of Penn State's Beaver Stadium to spell out 'PEDO STATE' from end-zone to end-zone before Saturday's game.
They need to get Spanier out ASAP!

People we know that knew Sandusky raped little boys and kept quiet.

My father in law is an old college coach and he swears this is what has kept Joe in the game all this time. You can kind of understand in a way but it is selfish.
Other than Indiana University -- I've never especially disliked -- nor particularly cared for -- any of the Big 10 schools.
But frankly, I don't think it could be more shameful than to wear a shirt that identifies you with the universities that have harbored pedophiles (Penn State & Indiana U. -- the latter due to Alfred Kinsey)
I suppose if Indiana survived Kinsey, Penn State will survive this, too. But it won't deserve it.
And until UnrePENTant State U. becomes rePENTant State U. and its officials stop trying to protect themselves and their careers and their pension checks, pressure needs to be placed on...
...sponsors of Penn State games on the Big 10 network...
...PSU trustees...
...Big 10 officials...
...NCAA officials...
...etc...
Perhaps some FREEPER could get...
...phone numbers of its trustees...
...and then tape/monitor the upcoming Big 10 network games involving Penn State and let us know who their primary sponsors were...
Time to get them "involved" in "helping" campus officials make the "right decisions"
I want everyone at Penn State fired from top to bottom. To be so corrupt that everyone from the top to bottom’s first inclination was to keep quiet and brush it away says the only thing that can fix this is a full house cleaning. If they won’t do it then give the university the Death Penalty. Make the football program unprofitable, that will severely damage the university.
The only people at Penn State I would feel bad for are the students. The rest need to explain themselves.
I know he didn't handle this the way he should have, but I also know he's tried to be a decent, moral man throughout his career. But on the most difficult challenge of his life, he fell.
Incredibly sad.
“The rest need to explain themselves.”
The answers are pretty clear, if anyone dare to look for them.
Aug 23,2011 - Penn State ranked LGBT friendly
For the 10th year in a row, Penn State received a five-star rating the highest score possible on the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender-Friendly Campus Climate Index.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State recently aced the LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index with a five-star rating, one of only 33 universities out of 300 participating to receive top honors.
The initial form was very complex and took a long time to fill out, said Allison Subasic, director of Penn States LGBTA Student Resource Center, of the 50-point self-assessment questionnaire developed by Campus Pride.

LGBTQA community grows, thrives
In August 2010, Penn State was recognized as one of only 19 universities in the United States to receive a five-star rating on the Campus Pride Climate Index for its LGBT-friendliness and inclusiveness.
Shane Windmeyer, executive director of Campus Pride and the indexs creator, said his organization is focused on building safer and more LGBT-friendly campuses.

The AGENDA is far more important, than those damaged by it...
Word coming down that Paterno has resigned effective immediately.
No way he could stay....PSU needs to clean house from top to bottom......interesting to see how the team responds......funny to think Galen Hall might be a head coach again, and pretty much in the same manner when Charlie Pell was booted from Florida because of their infractions.
From what I have read lately, some people believe that the DA was paid off. Who knows, but that is an interesting theory.
Really?? Seriously??? You’re blaming the media for this?? I’m going to guess you don’t have (or have ever had) any young children.
The accusations against the pedophile are horrific. And Joe Pa knew, and basically did nothing. He should be gone. Yesterday.
I believe that Joe has publicly said that things have gone downhill in meteorology/climate studies there.
Re: “Joepa should have went to the police.”
with WHAT???
The police’s first question would have been, “What did you see, and when and where did you see it?”
Paterno: “Oh, I wasn’t even there. McQueary said he saw it.”
Two words: HEARSAY EVIDENCE. Not even admissible in court. I am not a lawyer but it is quite likely that the police could have acted only on a report from McQueary, who actually claims to have seen the incident.
This is not to say Paterno should not have told his superior, which he did. The administrator in charge of the campus police department (who was however indicted for perjury) also was told, which means a law enforcement agency DID know about it.
If anybody was in a position to go to the police, e.g. the State Police, with something on which they could have acted, it was McQueary because he was the only eyewitness (other than the boy in question).
