On March 19, 2011, British jihadi Anjem Choudary, spokesman for the banned Islam4UK organization, co-founder of Al-Muhajiroun, and spiritual advisor to the UK Islamist group Muslims Against Crusades (MAC),[18] launched a Twitter account and began tweeting. MAC made headlines last week for threatening a British MP who subsequently called on their activities to be closely monitored by law enforcement.[19] According to his Twitter account, Choudary is "a Muslim who believes that Islam is something we must believe in (Tawheed), live by (Shari'ah) and struggle and sacrifice for (by way of Daw'ah and Jihad)."[20]
In addition to tweeting his views to his followers, Choudary uses Twitter for disseminating and linking to his videos on YouTube, for announcing collaboration with other jihadi groups, and for calling on his followers in the U.K. and U.S. to launch protests.
Choudary's tweets include calls for a return to the Caliphate; for shari'a law to replace the U.S. Constitution; for Islam to conquer the White House and U.K.; for Islam to take over the world; for Libyans to declare jihad and annex other countries; and for Allah to destroy the enemies of Islam, as well as praise for Anwar Al-Awlaki and Osama bin Laden and much more. In one notable tweet, dated today, Choudary warns those who "support" Charlie Hebdo, the French satirical political weekly – which this week published an attack on radical Islam, with Islam's Prophet Muhammad as "guest editor" and as a result had its offices firebombed and its website cyber-attacked – to "take lessons from Theo Van Gogh," the Dutch film director assassinated by jihadi Mohammed Bouyeri in November 2004 for his film Submission which criticized the treatment of women in Islam."

“Shari’a Movement Struggles to Globalize Campaign for Islamizing Western World”

Introduction
Over recent years, a new phenomenon has emerged among radical Islamist circles: the rise of a global network of groups calling for the total Islamization of Western states and societies via the implementation of shari’a law, the abolishment of democratic states and their replacement by Islamic regimes.
These groups, which have referred to themselves as the global shari’a movement, strive to globalize ideas and tactics hatched within radical Islamist circles in the U.K. These circles are led by Sheikh ‘Omar Bakri, who was denied reentry into the country after he left for Lebanon following the 2005 London bombings, and his disciple Anjem Choudary, who founded several groups in the country that have since been banned by the British authorities.
Choudary has significant influence and involvement in most, if not all, of the groups which are part of the so-called global shari’a movement, whether directly or in inspiration, moral support or guidance. His name regularly appears on their websites, YouTube clips, and Facebook pages. For instance, the contact page on the Shariah4usa website provides contact information for Choudary, as well as for Bakri and for Ibrahim Siddiq Conlon, the head of Sharia4australia who recently posted a letter of support for Choudary on his Facebook page.[1]
Such groups have adopted Bakri and Choudary’s worldview and modus operandi in openly calling for and demonstrating in favor of the establishment of Islamic rule, while opposing democracy as a political ideal and system, condemning freedom, and protesting the West’s alleged crimes against Muslims. However, despite the image they have attempted to create, and despite meriting some media attention in the countries where they operate, the groups lack a substantial presence on the ground, with the exception of the U.K.-based groups, whose relatively high numbers and effective organization enable them to be more active – and, as a result, to enjoy considerably larger publicity in the media. The most tangible presence of these groups, especially those outside the U.K., is on online social networks, namely YouTube and Facebook.
The groups and figures that propagate Bakri and Choudary’s ideology include:
- Sharia4uk or Islam4uk and its reincarnations in the U.K., such as Muslims Against Crusades”

The Home Secretary Theresa May today laid an Order proscribing Muslims Against Crusades effective from midnight tonight.
She said: ‘I have today laid an Order which will proscribe Muslims Against Crusades from midnight tonight. This means being a member of or supporting the organisation will be a criminal offence.
‘I am satisfied Muslims Against Crusades is simply another name for an organisation already proscribed under a number of names including Al Ghurabaa, The Saved Sect, Al Muhajiroun and Islam4UK. The organisation was proscribed in 2006 for glorifying terrorism and we are clear it should not be able to continue these activities by simply changing its name.’

SNIPPET: “New Delhi The Delhi Police on Tuesday registered a case of sedition and communal hatred against two UK-based radical Islamic preachers who have called for a procession around Parliament on March 3 to enforce Sharia law in the country.
London-based Anjem Choudary, who floated the website, sharia4hind.com, detailing the plan for the procession, said that his travel arrangements were in order and he would be in Delhi on March 3. He said his group has booked a hotel here for a video conference with one of their leaders based in Lebanon.
The website was blocked after a public interest litigation was filed in the Delhi High Court last week.
The police have registered a case under sections 124A (sedition), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion), 295A (deliberate act to outrage religious feelings) of the IPC and 66 Information Technology (IT) Act on the basis of an email reply by Abu Baraa, a British citizen of Bangladesh origin and chairman of sharia4hind.”
