The only person who will tear up Obama in a Debate is Newt.

I like Cain, but he speaks in platitudes. Newt has a remarkable ability to recall names, dates and places without the need of notes or friendly reminders from a Moderator. If you listen closely, Newt doesn't hesitate before responding to a point of discussion.

I am aware of the baggage Newt brings with him, but he is far and away the sharpest tool in the shed. When a Liberal starts mouthing off about the “Clinton” Budget Surplus, I remind them that the only reason that happened was because of Newt Gingrich and the Republican House holding Clinton's feet to the fire.

Whether you agree with him or not on every issue, when he enters the room he is the smartest person there. I have seen him speak in person four or five times. I have no recollection of him ever using notes and he certainly never used an ObamaPrompter.

I have some Texas friends who love Perry and they know him personally. They refuse to see that his “debating” skills are less than adequate, and the Presidential Debates between Obama and our Nominee may well seal the fate of the Election Results.

If it was Newt versus Obama in a Debate, you could sell it on Pay Per View. There would be no tense moments that we have all experienced in the past with G.W. Bush and McCain. We all had that little voice in our heads when our Candidate was responding to a question saying to ourselves “don't blow it”.

The Liberal Moderators ALWAYS slant the questions and responses to the Democrat Candidate. Newt would embarrass both Obama and the Sycophant Moderator with his explanation of the facts surrounding every issue being discussed.

Right on the button. Newt was the obvious adult of the two.

I tend to agree that Newt came across tonight as far better informed and imaginative than Cain, tho both did remarkably well and I was proud that they are both in the GOP race. Cain holds an ‘inspirational’ edge on Newt. And likability.

The one remaining concern I have about Newt, were he the nominee going head to head with Obama in debate next Fall, is that he’d pull a Kemp. Kemp was extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and a principled conservative. I had looked forward to his debating the sox off of Gore. He caved in the first few minutes. Such a disappointment.

Still, as it stands today, Newt is FAR better prepared than Cain or any other GOP candidate to match up with Obama in debate. Unlike McCain, I don’t think Newt would let Obama intimidate him, or be fearful of being called ‘racist’ for taking him on strongly.

I agree that Newt would absolutely demolish Obama in a debate, but I also believe that Obama doesn't have what it takes to hold his own against Cain.

Cain might not humiliate Obama into the floor boards like Newt would, but I certainly believe that he'd take him out using the standard conservative arsenal. He's plenty well-equipped to do that, in my opinion.

What's most important here, is that we're choosing a leader for the next four years. That leader is going to have to pick up the shattered pieces of the damage Obama and his ilk have wrought. I personally would rather see someone who has some track record in actually doing that sort of thing at the helm. Cain has that sort of experience. Newt does not.

In addition, the Republican who can vanquish Obama is going to have to be able to inspire the people to follow him. Herman Cain does that without effort, because it comes naturally to him. He's got the "It" factor, that is absolutely essential to gather our forces together for a push over the top to victory.

Newt may be brilliant, but he doesn't inspire the way a natural leader like Cain does, ergo; he will not be able to galvanize enough of us to defeat Obama. I really fear a repeat of the McCain nightmare, if Gingrich gets the nomination.
