Occupy DC protesters tried to force entry into the Washington Convention Center on Friday, where Americans for Prosperity is hosting their Defending the American Dream Summit. The protesters also formed roadblocks, surrounding the convention center and only allowing non-luxury cars to pass.

Those Gods of the Copybook Headings are approaching.
Please do not apologize.
We are all on edge.
I have been on edge for 3 years.
I understand you.
My very best wishes to you.
As you noted ... one of the four things certain.
Too true. Sometimes I try to dodge the onslaught by just reading the headlines, and only scanning a few noteworthy threads, but even just that is enough to burden my mind.
We're literally in a cold war for our very survival. That war has heated up since Obama usurped office, so there's angst and anxiety abounding on every side - even amongst brothers and sisters in arms. I'm all too guilty of elbowing my fellows a bit harshly at times, due to the stress we're in.
It'd be nice if we could all just talk peaceably amongst ourselves about the gathering storm, but that's idyllic, and unreal. Given what we're facing, we're going to be restless and uneasy. Quarrels will break out among friends and compatriots. It's just the way it is.
That said, when it counts most, we'll all stand together. I really believe that.
Officer, I was in fear for my life when the howling mob descended upon my Escalade; that's why I gunned it in an effort to escape. I didn't see the three I ran over.
little jeremiah, you have captured in words exactly what we are feeling, along with the frustration of realizing that those tasked with the responsibility for protecting us are refusing to do so. That calls for a massive correction. It will not be pretty, because what we are seeing today is only a warm-up for the near future.
That being said, you three are some of my favorite Freepers.Let's not fight each other.
Thank you, little jeremiah. I am reading all the links you provided. Frightening.. to say the least.
We’ve all been on edge for a while. I have to hold back myself, because I often advocate taking things to an extreme. There’s a little voice inside that says that we need to go to war sooner, rather than later, and it comes out in my posts at times.
While watching the video I kept thinking to myself, If I had been there with my Hummer, there would have been VISIBLE injuries. Fearing for your life behind the wheel of a Hummer can have tragic consequences, for the OWS slugs that is!
Obama will let the house burn down in a weak attempt to save himself
Handshakes all around - I just remembered something Solzhenitzen (sp??) said - went something like this:
“The line between good and evil runs through the heart of every human being.”
We each have to fight that fight - some lose the fight, evil is too tempting, and some never fight it at all. The enemies are those who don’t try to fight the evil in their own hearts, not those who struggle to always stay in the light.
Back at'cha, LJ. We'll get through this together.
Thank you so much for your comments.
Smith
Ordinary people are ready to snap
“That being said, you three are some of my favorite Freepers.”
Oh crumbs. Do you really mean that?
That is one of the nicest things I have hear about me in many, many years.
Oh wait!!!! (LOL)
Was that a sexual harassment comment????? Even if it makes me feel good and happy if you say that every day?
My best wishes and love to you and your family.
(I really hope you realize I was making fun about sexual harassment. I can only hope men start to change this around and start charging women for the same. Again, my love to you and your family).
And how about
Whether the State can loose and bind
In Heaven as well as on Earth:
If it be wiser to kill mankind
Before or after the birth—
These are matters of high concern
Where State-kept schoolmen are;
But Holy State (we have lived to learn)
Endeth in Holy War.
Whether The People be led by The Lord,
Or lured by the loudest throat:
If it be quicker to die by the sword
Or cheaper to die by vote—
These are things we have dealt with once,
(And they will not rise from their grave)
For Holy People, however it runs,
Endeth in wholly Slave.
Please forgive me. I am very, very tired. I’m getting ready for bed.
I will go over your post and answer tomorrow.
Thank you.
Interesting. Trying to understand it. I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, I’ll cogitate about it. Kipling is really one of my favorites. I should buy some more books on Amazon.
We used to live in lower Manhattan, right in the middle of this Liberty Plaza occupation... my husband insisted we move out, he had the vision to see living in NYC could be perilous, so over my kicking screaming, three generation NY heritage.. we moved... how right he was.. I remember the big black out, what was it 2005? can’t remember, but all power was shut down and we had a fully loaded boat in Ct with water and generator and could bug out — but we were locked down with a power out garage door that could not open so we were held hostage in NY.
Anyway, so glad I do not live in lower Manhattan cause I would have snapped by now, the Community 1 elected officials have totally let down the residents
